Oct 14, 2009 - BOB DYLAN! I SAW HIM YESTERDAY! :D
rickzters Says:
Oct 14, 2009 - Before the Beatles, there was the great legend of Bob Dylan. Eventhough their music is different, there is no doubt Bob influenced the Beatles.
Ashiman12 Says:
Oct 14, 2009 - People give him credit for his lyrics (and rightly so; he's a genius) but give him a hard time for his singing. Sure, he's no Pavarotti. But the sincerity and feeling he gives to his songs through his singing is unbelievable.
Sleazymush Says:
Oct 14, 2009 - His singing is just amazing! He made my eyes full of tears.
rickzters Says:
Oct 14, 2009 - I never really understood why people bash his vocals. It is different, unique and uplifting. They are just jealous because no one can sound like him.

Oct 14, 2009 - If you could do that, why don't you? Go ahead and get drunk, pull out a guitar, and put something up on youtube that's half as good as Dylan. I'll be waiting.
tangogirl100 Says:

chomsky88 Says:
Oct 15, 2009 - It's kind of funny you should say that--people were accusing him of that in the mid-60's when he went electric and toured with what later became known as The Band. He was booed at nearly every performance for about 7 years. But given that it's been about 40 years since he sang folk music I'm a little surprised you've just heard about it. In any case he never stood for anything and never claimed to--that's why he hated being called the voice of a generation. He's anything but a sellout.
chomsky88 Says:
Oct 15, 2009 - Actually Bob Dylan never had "lofty ideals", unless by lofty ideals you mean the desire to write great songs. His songs may have been utilized by the anti-war movement and civil rights proponents, but Dylan was never really into it the way Joan Baez was. He always went his own way, and never cared what anyone else thought about it. You should watch the bio by Martin Scorcese and you'll get a better idea of how he thinks and how he views life.
chomsky88 Says:
Oct 15, 2009 - Dylan started out singing in coffee houses and got a contract based on the brilliance of his lyrics--this is the mid 60's and if you think a guy with an old guitar, a somewhat nasal voice, and a harmonica is something a public relations guy would come up with you are cracked. And he wrote all of his own songs, so what do you mean, "songwriters"? You're correct that "public relations agents, songwriters, and record industry moguls elevated a mediocre-talented crooner to the top"--Britney Spears.
chomsky88 Says:
Oct 15, 2009 - I just realized 2dope2 is punking everyone with those Britney Spears comparisons--pretty funny. And if he's not, then how did the retard learn how to type? Maybe it's an idiot savant kind of thing--a mechanical aptitude unsullied by conscious thought.
Cricriiii Says:
Oct 16, 2009 - Lots of people are able to do what Dylan did. But if Dylan is Dylan, that's because he's been a true poet morally committed to the human rights cause. It's technically reproducible today, but he had the balls to sing his own comprehension of the world of his time, and the genius to make it timeless. Now think whatever you want, sing it better than him with a 100 times harder rythm, you'll never put as much soul as him within his songs.
rjmendera Says:
Oct 16, 2009 - Thank you for this Dylan gem...How intereting to see this video of the young American singer poet...rjmendera
