Nov 5, 2009 - The box is its addiction, and it cannot stop opening the box.

captainquirk24 Says:

Nov 5, 2009 - It's about a friend of Maynard's who was a very talented artist, but his talent only showed when he was wasted. I don't know for sure, but I heard he died from an OD.

Pizza300 Says:

spartante83 Says:

Nov 6, 2009 - Check it out, in a recent interview on TripleJ with maynard, he explained that it's about a friend of his that is an artist, and he has a drinking problem, but he always creates his greatest paintings when he's completely wasted. So he's taken that idea, that sometimes that the things that society concentrates on as being bad things that we shouldn't do, they can actually have some good points as well, and he's just gone from there.

FuzzyHatchet Says:

Nov 6, 2009 - Tool = The most boring band to listen to, ever!

Snakepit4321 Says:

Nov 6, 2009 - how about you smoke a joint and listen to 10,000 days. That will change your opinion of them. If not, then your loss.

Snakepit4321 Says:

Nov 6, 2009 - dude, why do you tell people the meanings of songs? It ruins the whole point of music. People should relate the songs they like to their own life experiences. It gains much more meaning that way. Thats how songs are composed, and thats how they should be absorbed. But thats all my opinion.

PsiKidPower Says:

Nov 7, 2009 - I'm aroused......this is some fucking orgasmic music!

pfft1993 Says:

Nov 7, 2009 - i totally agree with you. but what of those songs that can only have one meaning like "street spirit (fade out)"? Thom Yorke says there's only one meaning to it, the end to everything. and that he gets sad when people give their own jolly meaning, oblivious to the only tragic meaning to it.

Yugguy1970 Says:

Nov 7, 2009 - It's not about what a song means, it's about what it means to YOU. What memories does it evoke, what feelings does it arouse.

nomyek200 Says:

Nov 7, 2009 - No one cares what you think, fuzzyhatchet.

vaniacobain Says:

Nov 7, 2009 - are u stupid?

besafe928 Says:

Nov 7, 2009 - fuzzyhatchet ur a dumb ass plain and simple

Snakepit4321 Says:

Nov 7, 2009 - Yeah i agree. There are some exceptions. This song is pretty obvious what the general idea of it is. I just dont like it when i look up some of my favorite songs and see douchbags trying to brag about how cool they are by ruining the song and explaining what it was wrote about. The Package was one of my favorite A Perfect Circle songs and someone did that. Now everytime i listen to it, it just doesnt have the mystery and mystic quality i used to hear that spoke to me so much. Thats all im sayin.
