Nov 20, 2009 - Hate to say it but Ford aren't scoring much better points on the reliability cards over French cars these days. Buying a Fix-it Ford over a Fail-me French car is like booking a wonderful family holiday to Iraq then going on another one to Palestine! Very similar categories of failures will often happen to Ford as well as French cars. Ford TDCi Diesels have been PSA for quite a few years now so the Diesel department is mostly French. Can't win with either of them really!

Nov 20, 2009 - guess what, the ford fiesta is a good car, most magazines say it's the best in its class btw, and everybody would obviously prefer to drive a bmw or an audi or a merc etc etc, but not everyone wants to spend all their money on a car, and for the price of the fiesta it's good value believe me. and for reliability, i dont know where you heard that recent fords aren't reliable but i think you should look it up, they're not the most reliable cars but they don't break down all the time...

Nov 21, 2009 - i have a fiesta mk 5. it's the one before this and trust me it is not that reliable. all the plastic bits on the outside tend to come off, the injectors get jammed quite easily and there were quite a few other engine problems

Nov 21, 2009 - yeah i heard stories like that about the mk5, but apparently the new fiesta's are at the same level as vw reliability wise and the quality of the components and the assembling process... like what gluepot66 said. Then again you have to see what happens in the future, sadly you can never be 100% sure about a car.

They said the Ford S-Max was the best but how ironic over time that its turned out to be the most unreliable MPV in the UK. Recent generation Fords are a pile of cost cutting shit, Its like Buying a KIA for the price of a VW. TDCi versions being the worst ones of all. They are as bad as French cars if not... WORSE!

It seems Ford are still insistent on spending their profits on good advertising then they actually do on their cars... The beautifully arranged Focus was very different quality/reliability story from the example I was given as a company car as a sales rep from a U.S based telecoms company.
