Mar 28, 2009 - Cyborgtroy have a look at "Javascript the good parts" java script is not really ment to be a C syntax language is more closely related to scheam and lisp.. and it lacks block scope and there are a number of other features and bugs one needs to know about...

onecsguy Says:

Apr 2, 2009 - I bet the V8 javascript VM runs faster than the Sun Java VM. =) javascript is now fast in google chrome!

cyborgtroy Says:

Apr 2, 2009 - possibly, but Javascript and Java are so different that it would be like comparing the speed of OpenGL to the speed of the Webkit layout engine. Like, they're totally different things...

onecsguy Says:

Apr 2, 2009 - that is true ... but i believe your comment was "its slow" in general =D ... slow compared to what ... mother earth =P ... i was simply stating that javascript, especially with V8 is as fast if not faster than several other technologies, and by relation actually isn't slow at all =)

manictatter Says:

May 23, 2009 - Certainly not Klingon accent! I like the guy's enthusiasm. Who'd have thought back in the early days that javascript would get this much power under the hood. V6 power.

Shas221 Says:

Jun 2, 2009 - german.

Selasia Says:

Jun 6, 2009 - Indeed. The V8 project will allow for a whole new evolutionary path of web-enabled applications written in JS. 3D world simualtion and gaming, P2P networking, perhaps even realtime web-wide collaborative video editing. With some JS language improvements (and front-end translations for other languages) and a more mature (and some standardized) server-side library platforms things on the way things are getting very interesting.

TruthNewsTV Says:

Aug 22, 2009 - Nice. Im one of those few people making games in javascript.. It's really to slow, but this will help a lot, just hope the other browser also will implement something like this... Remember back in the good old days programming turbo pascal and I had to put small pieces of assembly code in there for better speed performance.

snifyy Says:

Sep 30, 2009 - I don't got the idea of the 3rd temp class.

ajarnfrankie Says:

Nov 19, 2009 - I wonder if GM is worried about the use of V8's name?
