Aug 18, 2009 - so perde quem luta...have you ever competed in the world championships? win or lose, these guys are all champions

birlisa1 Says:

Aug 20, 2009 - Nice fighting, but it doesnt look like BJJ rules?? Better than I have seen from BJJ before - seems like there also exsist a standing game...

bostonalext Says:

Aug 24, 2009 - ? of course there is a standing game! what bjj have you seen before? In training you mostly start from the knees to avoid injury, but there is a ton of stand up in BJJ

birlisa1 Says:

Aug 24, 2009 - Perhaps you are correct, but as I understand, to finish the fight you have to win by submission, and you only scores two points by throws or takedowns? And what happens when one of the parts are weaker in the standing game - he just sit down on his ass as fast as possible? But nice video though...

Ralphyneil Says:

Aug 27, 2009 - Birlisa1 - you don't have to win by submission, you can win by points and/or advantages also. Many fights do not end by submission. If one guy is not good/confident he'll most likely pull guard. If you don't understand, then why not give it a go at your local bjj club? One lesson won't hurt! BostonAlexT - it was indeed Moraes who beat Kron in 2008, not Lovato Jr.

birlisa1 Says:

Sep 3, 2009 - Ralphyneil, I have my background from Judo and Japanese Ju Jutsu, but after years I only do Judo, because I like the randori and SHIAI. I respect BJJ, but I find it akward to allow "pulling gard" because it takes away what I mean is a fundamental aspect of real fighting - all groundwork should be in the continuation of the standing action, not that one of the fighters decides to sit down to start groundfighting because he have a weak standing game....

mma357 Says:

Oct 1, 2009 - u dont know what ur talkin bout

bostonalext Says:

Oct 3, 2009 - Ralphyneil...I obviously know that, but I was replying to someone who was asking if that was John Cena (???) at 0:49

juanandresochoahered Says:

Oct 4, 2009 - there are many ways to make points in bjj not only in the take downs, points for passing guard, for sweaping, mounting, taking oponents back...... if none of the figthers make points, there is the advantage factor that determines the winner which is the one that was more agressive and tryed to attempt submissions...

juanandresochoahered Says:

Oct 4, 2009 - it is not beacuse they have a weak standing game, it is beacuse some figthers are more confortable figthing from their back and they prefer to take the figth to their confortable zone, if you pull guard it doesnt mean that you are not good in the stand up game, if you take someone down you end up on top, and if you prefer to figth on your back instead of on top beacuse it is your confort zone, you pull guard instead of letting your oponnent take you down and give away 2 points.

thebabemagnet Says:

Oct 20, 2009 - I love my blue belt. I miss being a blue belt! I'm a purple belt and the pressure increases. Of all belts (besides the black) I think the Blue is probably one of the coolest ones! Well for me! Good luck and keep on hitting the mats!
