Aug 5, 2009 - i had the opportunity to meet the original vandellas at the vocal group hall of fame concert in PITT PENN. the vandellas were two of the sweetest ladies ive met while i was performing in the oldies circuit. very down to earth, i felt like i was in the presence of my mother lol. i have absolutely nothin to say about MARTHA.

Sep 3, 2009 - yeah, motown artists were touring the u.k but the tour was a bit of a disaster in terms of audience numbers. then dusty, who was a huge fan of motown, set up this `prime time` t.v special which allowed motown`s best acts to show the british public how good they were. in the mid 60`s (with only the beatles and stones bigger in the u.k than dusty ) dusty offering to host the show meant huge audience figures. when motown acts toured the next year they played to huge crowds and even the beatles.

She had her own BBC show in the 60's there's some clips from these series on YouTube and if you keep searching there will be clips of her covering some Motown Hits including "Heatwave" : ) PS: Have ever heard the song "Son Of A Preacher Man"? She sang that : )
