Nov 9, 2009 - Jeez, I come to this recommended vid and find a bunch of carpers arguing over whether Grace or Janis was better. My god, I haven't thought about such things since I was 15! I realized then that they were BOTH great...and for completely different reasons. It's sexist to compare 'em. Why not compare Janis to, I dunno, Otis Redding or James Brown. Musically, she was closer. The criminally ignored Tracy Nelson was also always being compred to JJ. Also kinda dumb, but at least understanable.

Tracy was compared a lot to Janis back in the day, but she had her own distinct style.
