I don't think with all the media attention and pressure to succeed directed at Carano leading up to the fight I don't think her head was in the right place to compete against the best all around fighter in woman's mma. You were there, I've watched the fight 4+ times and pretty sure the camera's get a little closer then the third row. Carano was overmatched and underprepared no doubt. When she finally started throwing about half way through the round Cyborg was quick to take the fight to the mat, which of course Carano had no answer for.
