Nov 5, 2009 - Sometimes... Other times people get pissed when someone takes something good and then takes a big steamy shit on it and then tries to pass it off as something good.
13imahater Says:
Nov 5, 2009 - both of them played it great but i must say dave sings it alot better...
c200516 Says:
Nov 6, 2009 - Willie Nelson does it so much better. Saying dave sings this song better is like saying G.W. Bush was a better pres. than Abe Lincoln. i give dave props for the lyrics but....
Hudie13 Says:
Nov 6, 2009 - How can you say Willie Nelson's is better. His voice? Dave puts a lot more emotion into this song than Willie does, and has way more power behind his voice than Willie. I take the song a lot more seriously when Dave is singing it.

Nov 7, 2009 - I love this comment, I may have to steal it for future use if you don't mind.
Gorillazfreak18 Says:
Nov 7, 2009 - Dave Matthews puts more emotion in his version and cries out, but it really doesn't fit the mood. Willie Nelson doesn't show any emotion and is so plain and boring, but sorta sets the mood of the song, to be a depressing, low song. I do like the original better though, but both are good.
herholiness Says:
Nov 8, 2009 - Willie's version is more poignant because, let's face it, he is a lot closer to the grave than Dave Matthews is...when he speaks to the gravedigger it is without fear, as if to a friend...he is resigned to fate. The song is wonderful, but I feel it rings truer coming from Willie, whether he sang it better or not...he always has a way of making a song feel so natural, as if he were telling a story he has told all his life...he is a storyteller, and that's why I connect with his better.
K3val Says:
Nov 9, 2009 - this songs need the voice like Willie's and it doens't need no emotions... emotions is what makes pop music pop... this song should be depresing, and it is when willie sings it...
kingtonyx Says:
Nov 9, 2009 - This is a good song and you can tell it means a lot to Willie. Only thing that bothers me about it is that the whole premise is awfully close to Johnny Cash doing "Hurt". It just seems so strange, like someone planning their own funeral or something.
dylan3552 Says:
Nov 9, 2009 - Wiilie sets the mood better I think. But that's just my opinion.
daking1201 Says:
Nov 10, 2009 - wow Willie's sucks compared to Dave's. no doubt i saw Willie and Dave play this together live and Willie sounded good then but i mean this video he is so flat and has no emotion.
lbraddock44 Says:
Nov 10, 2009 - i like both of the versions, but willie would be so much better if he put as much emotion into it as dave.
hunnybunny300 Says:
Nov 10, 2009 - Wow,, Willie does a much better job on this than Dave does,,, dont get me wrong,,, Dave also does a great job of it,,,,,, But the whole song and vid, is much better
MKaufman850 Says:
Nov 11, 2009 - i dun like willie nelson's version nearly as much as dave. just because he is older doesn't mean it means more to him than it does to dave.
reedalej Says:
Nov 12, 2009 - personally i love the person willie is lol and he does this song decently
thecopywriter84 Says:
Nov 12, 2009 - this song sounds like a story tell by an old drunk man in front of a dirty bar in the south..so it's good, altough I prefer the DMB's version.
catlyn777 Says:
Nov 12, 2009 - I am a Willie fan, but in my opinion his rendition or interpretation, and his video, does not come even close to Dave Matthews. It is such a powerful song. When I listen and watch Dave, I get chills from this song.
houseoforange0 Says:
Nov 13, 2009 - Not Willie the groundskeeper... Willie the gravedigger...
metiron77 Says:
Nov 15, 2009 - I really like both versions, they both interpret this great song their way. Amazing!
THENICKHELD09 Says:

Nov 20, 2009 - well i never herd anybody but willie sing this but i love it ... i go next week to find out if i have cancer.. it mat be nothing.. and i may die young.. but this song helps so much
91FroSt91 Says:
Nov 21, 2009 - Willie Nelson is a great artist and a great man ... but the way he performed the song was more country like .... it wasn't as dark or as powerful and intense as Dave's version ... However they both are truly amazing ... and they deserve all the credit they are getting... if not even more.
teuvothebest Says:
Nov 23, 2009 - Willie Nelson is legend living

thelookatmelookatman Says:
Nov 3, 2009 - and that don't mean nothing besides he has the wrights to the song. PPL get mad when some1 remakes a song and it becomes better and greater then what it was.
