Jul 26, 2008 - It seems to be having quite a few problems trying to pull out! Unless they're showing off the Deltic's noise to York before moving off.

Aug 17, 2008 - The noise and the power used to reverberate around York station - it's a magnificent sound that stays with you for ever.....

Aug 26, 2008 - Only 2 things missing ; the crash and hiss of the old electro pneumatic points and the right away indicator with the "S" and the little bell ringing!

Oct 2, 2008 - My father worked for British rail and took me to York Station when i was a kid - to hear a Deltic going through was absolutely awesome. The power filled every nook and cranny of that place.

Jan 20, 2009 - I was trying to explain Deltics to a biker and he was raving about how powerful his Ducati bike was.I said "a Deltic is THREE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED HORSEPOWER lol" Stunned silence from the biker 8-)

Jan 23, 2009 - Maybe an inexperienced driver or poor railhead conditions?
CREPELLO12 Says:
Mar 10, 2009 - hi bwhugul. could be this was a gentle start to avoid over loading the traction motors there-by causing the power units to cut out. this happend if too much power was applied with these loco,s. regards . crepello12.

Apr 20, 2009 - Rode these beasts as a 13 year old during the school holidays on a Northumbrian Ranger week ticket. Will remember always the unique sound of those engines as the driver stretched her legs from Newcastle down to York. (1980) It could of been those happy days once more ! Excellent !
magicmaybach Says:
May 4, 2009 - yep, nowt wrong with showing off, sounds great etc, but the driver doesnt get the bill for screwing the bollocks out of the engines does he!!! if he did he might be a touch more careful with them....

May 23, 2009 - Is this diesel-electric?, or diesel-hydraulic? The way it's revving, I'd guess hydraulic.
Victorialine67 Says:
May 27, 2009 - made my whole house rumble! :D ace vid 5 stars!
magicmaybach Says:
Jun 20, 2009 - diesel electric mate, nearly as good as an hydraulic though!

Aug 19, 2009 - (d)i(e)se(l)-elec(t)r(i)(c) there you have it
craigybus1 Says:
Oct 28, 2009 - The Deltic engine doesnt like full on thrash starts. Pulling away with a Deltic involves a graduall build up, ease off, power back on, then ease off, then when momentum is fast enough, full power can be applied

webstergunn Says:
Jul 20, 2008 - Good amount of clag there! 5*
