The word 'your' is the possessive form of you, referring to something that a person has, or something that belongs to the person in discussion. It's not complex grammatical theory, it's 3rd grade English.

"If you are not retarded" is the grammatically correct sentence, 'you' and 'are' can be combined into "you're" to make "If you're not retarded". The word "your" is incorrect. You could have said "If YOUR intelligence is adequate", in which case you would be talking about something belonging to the subject, meaning you can use the possessive form. But that was not the case. Maybe you failed middle school.
