Nov 4, 2009 - lol, sorry.

chansetwo Says:

Nov 4, 2009 - Hitchens is "the man"!

migduh Says:

Nov 5, 2009 - Hitchens = so. much. win.

tobyobrie Says:

Nov 6, 2009 - Hitchens is a bit of a smug dickhead here. Unlike Dawkins, he's "in character", acting out the role of a smug intellectual.

cbruer Says:

Nov 6, 2009 - haha, if you've seen Hitchens enough you'd realize that he is not "in character", that IS his character! And yes he is a smug a-hole, but that's much more entertaining to watch than that polite pansy Dawkins anyday!

OsakaChiyoDestroyU Says:

Nov 6, 2009 - "They can take extraordinary comfort from the piety and stupidity of...the uniformity of the coverage of the man's death." ...no response. That's actually quite amazing. He was testing them to see how smart they were. If they had followed what he said he grossly insulted them (The keyword was uniformity) but they should have said in response that they are "fair and balanced". He gave them a fishing line. That's the moment Hitchens realized he wasn't debating the brightest people around.

jceja24 Says:

Nov 6, 2009 - Man, I would love to see have Hitchens have his own tv show! Too bad, that no tv station would have the balls to do so.

chansetwo Says:

Nov 6, 2009 - It's not fair to put a thinker like Hitchens in a discussion with fools like Hannity.

sydneygayboi Says:

Nov 6, 2009 - Americans are rather STUPID. lol

tobyobrie Says:

Nov 6, 2009 - Not really. In his interviews on The Hour and Charlie Rose he's very courteous. Best not to slag off Dawkins... his work is phenomenal.

jabbafeet Says:

Nov 6, 2009 - Hitchens totally killed these guys XD

jabbafeet Says:

Nov 6, 2009 - to bad theres no hell for him to go to XD

AaronCee Says:

Nov 6, 2009 - stewie griffin done grew up!

Treadsoftly14 Says:

Nov 6, 2009 - not Americans. PEOPLE. are stupid. dont judge america by these right wing morons.

mikeyman211 Says:

Nov 6, 2009 - The hosts of these shows are so pompous.

henrythesteinberg Says:

Nov 6, 2009 - Hitchens is a pompous neocon with some terrible politics. But all of that is fully amended by the way he made Hannity audibly shake whilst trying to respond to him.

cbruer Says:

Nov 6, 2009 - Yea I'm just getting a rouse out of you on Dawkins, but I would say that Hitchens being polite is the exception rather than the rule.... and I've seen tons of his debates.

cbruer Says:

Nov 6, 2009 - eee rise out of your, rather

srminton Says:

Nov 6, 2009 - You're right, of course, except it is true that America has a larger proportion of this kind of stupidity (religious stupidity), with the exception of the Middle East. So yes, we shouldn't stereotype, but at the same time it's true that every stereotype is grounded in an element of truth. The religious right has a stronger foothold in this country than in other similarly developed economies (Europe, Japan etc.). Why is that? (not a rhetorical question, I'm interested in your thoughts).

Treadsoftly14 Says:

Nov 7, 2009 - Theres many different reasons the religious right has a grip on america. its not a simple issue. this grip is slipping, however, and i think thats partly due to the writings of the so called "four horseman" dawkins, dennet, harris, and hitchens. i think people from other countries are mistaken in their perception of how much religious zealotry there really is in this country.

Treadsoftly14 Says:

Nov 7, 2009 - also, this country was founded on very "prude" if you will, ideals. we were, from the start, seeking free worship. religious oppression in europe really drove the spike.

BigReese25 Says:

Nov 7, 2009 - Damn! Hitchens is just owning these petty clowns

gunnerfan87 Says:

Nov 7, 2009 - FUCK FALWELL FUCK RELIGIONS

swagger93 Says:

Nov 7, 2009 - "would jesus have advocated the gop..." 'what a question..ha ha!' OFWIEHFPOIHEWF HAHAHAAHAHAAHAAHHAAHHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA

CthulhoidEntity Says:

Nov 7, 2009 - Hitchens? Neocon? Methinks you should understand the terms you bandy about. Falwell was a Neocon. The Neoconservative movement was all but founded by the Religious Right. Hitchens, as it says in the bio on the "more information" tab to the upper right, is an ex-Trotskyist and still advocates individual rights. That's about as far from Neoconservative as you can get. Hitchens can be somewhat belligerent, yes. We need people like that to stand up for the formerly silent atheist community.
