Jan 23, 2009 - Yes, God is sovereign over all things and ordains whatever comes to pass. But people still make moral choices for which they are accountable.
tojoha1 Says:
Jan 24, 2009 - So we are not really predestined in the sense that we have a destiny that is set from the beginning (which, ironically, is what predestined actually means)?
freezatron Says:
Feb 20, 2009 - Cor blimey governor, the brainwashed do like to dribble on dont they though. reason religion are opposing concepts. great thing about the believers is that they are easy to fleece! If you believe I'd like you to give till hurts, I want you to take your biggest dollar bill and give it to me god wants me to have my very own limo, helicopter, jet football team, so jesus freaks give it up god told me in a vision!!!
freezatron Says:
Feb 20, 2009 - an assumption of limited human experience !!!! isn't that why god was created in mans image ? anyhow heard enough of this kids faulty reasoning, trying to square the circle....
delbert0504 Says:
Mar 25, 2009 - but if you believe in predestination then you believe that God created people to go to hell
ukchristian28 Says:
Mar 25, 2009 - God created with the intention of not saving everyone, yes.
delbert0504 Says:
Mar 25, 2009 - then how do you explain 1 Tim 2:4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. If you believe God made people to go to hell then you don't believe in a God of love. Now all men won't be saved but God did not make anyone's destiny to be hell.
ukchristian28 Says:
Mar 25, 2009 - I believe that 1 Timothy 2:1-6 supports an unlimited atonement (Christ died for everyone) and the free offer of the gospel to everyone. I do not believe that the passage is saying that everyone has the moral abilty to accept Christ. God must do a work of grace in the sinners heart before that will happen (John 6:44). God has a higher purpose in not granting this gift of grace to everyone. He allows some to go to Hell to demonstrate His justice (Romans 9:22-24).
delbert0504 Says:
Mar 25, 2009 - yes God will allow some to go to hell because of their lack of belief and faith, but He did not predestine them to go to hell. They have the same choice as we do.
ukchristian28 Says:
Mar 25, 2009 - You will need some scriptural support for that.
delbert0504 Says:
Mar 25, 2009 - its the simple concept that God is love. Why would He create people to go to hell? Thats just cruel and just plain evil. Psalms says we are fearfully and wonderfully made.
ukchristian28 Says:
Mar 25, 2009 - So, you believe that God is obligated to give everyone the chance to be saved?
delbert0504 Says:
Mar 25, 2009 - I don't think He is obligated, I think He does because God is an awesome loving God. I believe everyone in the world (including the african tribal people that noone knows about) will get a chance to be saved. God is a just and fair God. That is the God I worship an awesome loving just GOd.
ukchristian28 Says:
Mar 25, 2009 - God is not just nor fair if the tribes in Africa don't get a chance to be saved? Is that what you're saying?
delbert0504 Says:
Mar 25, 2009 - yes if god does't give everyone a chance that is not fair and is not just. Why would you limit God to only giving a few "elect" people the chance to salvation. God said He came so that all men might be saved.
ukchristian28 Says:
Mar 25, 2009 - Basically you are saying there that God's grace can be demanded. It can't. Since no one deserves to be saved He is not obliged to save anyone. You talk about things being fair. If God were to be fair then He would wipe us all out and send us all to Hell.
delbert0504 Says:
Mar 25, 2009 - You are right in saying that. But if God is going to offer grace to one person why would God not offer it to another? Give me the biblical answer you have.
ukchristian28 Says:
Mar 25, 2009 - Well, I do believe that God offers salvation to everyone. I believe in what is called the free offer of the gospel. No one outside of Christ has the moral ability to come to Christ. Their mind is hostile to God and can't submit to God's law (Romans 7:7-8). God has to do a work of grace in the person's heart first before they will come to Christ (John 6:44). God has a purpose in not saving some to demonstrate his justice:
ukchristian28 Says:
Mar 25, 2009 - "What if God, choosing to show his wrath and make his power known, bore with great patience the objects of his wrath—prepared for destruction? What if he did this to make the riches of his glory known to the objects of his mercy, whom he prepared in advance for glory" (Romans 8:22-23).

anzwertree Says:
May 18, 2009 - I do not believe in predestination. I do believe somethings are planned by God, but I do not believe everything is planned by God. That wouldn't make much sense. For example: If it was God's will for Adam to sin, why punish him? Thus, something are determined, but most things are not. In any case, I think this video was well thought out and nicely delivered.
Eric3575 Says:
Oct 22, 2009 - Oh yes, but you forgot that your god is omniscient. He should of know that was going to happen. He is also omnipresent aswell. He must of been watching them at all time since hes omnipresent, right? Or are you saying he wasn't omniscient nor omnipresent at that time for what ever reson?
anzwertree Says:
Oct 22, 2009 - Where in the Bible does it say God is omnipresent? Please show me.
Eric3575 Says:
Oct 22, 2009 - Oh, so god isn't omnipresent? Then that means god isn't all powerfull. KJV Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Idk if thats good enough. I don't think its a traditional belief. Didn't they tell you that he is in church? Oh well, might of just been my old church then. But u agree he is omniscient, right? God is "all powerful", he should be able to do that don't you think? unless hes not omnipotent?

tojoha1 Says:
Jan 23, 2009 - So, are we predestined?
