Dec 27, 2007 - could the poor cope with the Poll Tax you ignoramus! Could the poor cope with mass unemployment? And what about the banks and Big Business now...making £ billions every year at our exepense! How stupid are some people?

baddock99 Says:

Dec 28, 2007 - The establishment is left wing?!?! Did you really write those words? What the Monarchy and the House of Lords? The heads of the police, Civil Service, army, navy...they're all left wing? And the MEDIA?! Do you mean the likes of Rupert Murdoch? Haldenver are you a 4 year old?

haldenver Says:

Dec 28, 2007 - And the BBC?. You should understand the Establishment operates on the principle of slow appeasement. For their survival, they bend promote values contradictory to their own long term survival. These are Churchills' crocodile feeders : always feeding it, hoping to be the last ones eaten. Result: PC emasculation of the Police; erosion of Civil Service independence ; demise of the Armed forces at the political table.... Older than four, maybe I have a longer term perspective than you?

baddock99 Says:

Dec 28, 2007 - Still no answer as to how the poor were supposed to cope with the Poll Tax. Or mass unemployment...no doubt that made you laugh too! Here's the good news...Groceries are not increasing by as much as they did before ...but the bad news is...you've all lost your jobs.

baddock99 Says:

Dec 28, 2007 - A longer term perspective? Does that mean you are over 80? WHAT values do the BBC promote that are "contradictory to their own long term survival". you won't give an answer. Your sort nebver do.

Dec 28, 2007 - Thatcher the demon who spawned globalisation which has led to mass poverty in the third world and to a super rich elite. Death to thatcherism

haldenver Says:

Dec 28, 2007 - I do accept your main point : "care in the community" was a the biggest black mark on the Thatcher years.....as your comments show. You need to get out less! The BBC promotes multiculturalism, human-generated global warming, and the idea that it is acceptable to call the Conservative party "Tories"... there is so much more. The BBC supports imprisoning people that don't want to pay the licence fee....wake up/take your meds...

dragonlee90 Says:

Dec 28, 2007 - It was a fixed tax rate per head, though there were reductions for poor people, SO THEY COULD COPE! Also, the tax rates were controlled by local councils, not Thatcher herself

baddock99 Says:

Dec 28, 2007 - So does that mean that Thatcher DIDN'T do all the things attributed to her? Poll Tax, crushing working people's rights, etc.. and what is so bad about promoting multiculturalism in a multicultural society? Are you suggesting the BBC should take the BNP/your line

baddock99 Says:

Dec 28, 2007 - So why did 10 million people refuse to pay it? Dickbrain! So Thatcher wasn't responsible for the Poll Tax...it was all the local council's fault! The utter and desperate dishonesty of you conservative scumbags is breath-taking!!!!!

haldenver Says:

Dec 28, 2007 - Trade Union reform was 100% crucial to resoring democracy to this country. Do you understand the content of the Employment Acts 1980-84? Do you know what was even happening at this time? This was about restoring proper representation to workers : do you remember the intimidation of unions at work and in pickets? What about the political levy?

haldenver Says:

Dec 28, 2007 - Dear Baldrick99 The Council tax is not that far away from the Poll tax ; what matters is the progressive nature of the tax system overall - including social security payments/and subsidies. No doubt you are in favour of the huge rise in council tax to pay the pensions of public-sector council pen-pushers? (Do the maths).Maybe you are one ; or not working just now ( as you "fight" the system....)

haldenver Says:

Dec 28, 2007 - Where do you folks come from? Thatcher was not a "demon" ; and globalisation has not led to mass poverty?? It has definately led to a super rich elite, but not exclusively ( look at Russia). Come off the drugs, leave your attic/mum's house, get a job , and try reading-talking to people in the real world. Stop all this "death" chat : get a therapist. Just stop this pseudo-ideology based on not getting out of bed.....

baddock99 Says:

Dec 28, 2007 - I know exactly what you are referring to. Why do you have this haughty overbearing attitude, you must know how incredibly dull you are. Do I remember the imitation "OF" unions? I think you meant BY unions. A Freudian slip if ever there was one. The intimidation OF unions was by your beloved Tory shits! I will enlighten you on the political levy...

baddock99 Says:

Dec 28, 2007 - The unions decided many years ago (and you may not like this but deal with it) that they needed political representation. So the Labour Party was born. Like all parties it needed finance. Union members were ASKED if they want to pay the levy and are at liberty (always have been) to refuse. Unlike New lab and Tories who squeeze money out of all kinds of unsavoury characters.

haldenver Says:

Dec 28, 2007 - Dear Baddayatblackrock99, Try listening to the video. Save your amateur pyschology for the Balls 10 year plan for saving our kids. I repeat : I am a Conservative ; not a "Tory". Perhaps the differenec is beyond you?

haldenver Says:

Dec 28, 2007 - Dear Badballot99 You have a tasty relish for lies and narrative.I am happy to dicuss 1903/Hardie and the rest but New Labour are still getting a forcibly imposed big cheque from the unions. Let's agree that we never will agree on very much. In the absence of a physical duel ( boxing , pistols etc); i humbly suggest we cease and desist until such time as you admit the error of your ways and beg further reality-based knowledge. Best Rgds HD

baddock99 Says:

Dec 28, 2007 - Not once have you attempted to answer any of my questions because you can't without revealing your Tory credentials - HYPOCRACY! Do I care what the difference is between a Tory and a Conservative? Probably the same as the difference between a conman and a trickster.

haldenver Says:

Dec 28, 2007 - Dear BadBollock99 Your questions are answers, so how can you see my reply? There is no hypocrisy : I am a conservative, and not a Tory ( see earlier). And then you say you don't care to know the difference? I suggest, BigBlock99, that the fault, and the huge hatred,is yours. Best Rgds HD

baddock99 Says:

Dec 28, 2007 - Lies? Who are you that is so important strangers would want to conceal what they see as a truth in order to get one by you? Talk about denial. No doubt with views like yours you are by now immuned to intelligent criticism: it must pour like a tao everywhere you go. Why would I need to lie to you? And what exactly is the lie?

humanityfirstnow Says:

Dec 29, 2007 - Dont get personal. I live in my own house, I have a job and I dont take drugs. Africa is poorer than it was in 1960 due to globalisation. Africa is also in the real world. Try talking to them rather than over your privet hedge to your neighbour about how your house has gone up in value since 1979. You are living in a bubble. Try reading Chomsky or if you cant read books look him up in you tube to see what the high priestest demon of globalisation is responsible for.

mrsthrale Says:

Dec 30, 2007 - Excellent! "Right On", Mrs Thathcher! ' We need you now in 2007-2008! Where is a great leader like you, now? Thanks for this video.

Daisy12630 Says:

Dec 30, 2007 - What a liar. EVERYTHING she says in this "interview" is a lie. Her government destroyed manufacturing industry. She consciously divided the country. She removed power and influence from the individual trades union member through the introduction of the most vicious anti-trades union laws in the developed world. She was a class politician whose every act was done in the short term interest of the haves at the expense of the have nots.

alijanlondon Says:

Dec 30, 2007 - If we'd have been any good at making anything (and we had been hopeless of making things since the war), we might still have manufacturing. Trade Union influence and power also destroyed manufacturing - demarkation, restrictive practices, strikes without a ballot. Grow up and do your histroy
