Nov 21, 2009 - i agree with thomas that anti-depressants and most psychiatry only masks depression, but he shouldn't dismiss matts knowledge on the subject and put words in his mouth.

LightYagame100000 Says:

Nov 21, 2009 - I love Tom Cruise. Anyone who dislikes him for his views based on real knowledge is a complete and utter moron. Sadly, that's 90% or more of americans. I am very proud of what Tom Cruise is trying to do in this interview, and at the same time, saddened by the amount of morons leaving ignorant, idiotic comments.

bikeguy98 Says:

Nov 22, 2009 - pseudo-science Tom? Well, I'm not an expert on Scientology just like ytou are not an expert on psychiatry, but hey, if you can say that as a layman, in my humble opinion, Scientology is a pseudo-religion, based on a science-fiction writer's beliefs.

Leatres Says:

Nov 22, 2009 - @LightYagame100000 I agree that the so called psych drug loving culture is sad. If a kid acts a bit strange parents go to the shrink who gives them retaline which fries the kids brain and keeps it quit. perfect solution for parents and shrinks but not kids. However Tommy here isn't really in the position to say this as he is part of an org that brainwashes people with false hopes and words in stead of drugs and maybe even drugs.

kool420deathstar Says:

Nov 22, 2009 - I think we should examine what Tom has been taking so that we know why he is so MANIC about any and every fucking subject he is presented with! Because I want some.

frankmcdeath Says:

Nov 22, 2009 - He is 100% radio rental. Not on this planet that boy.

shanana000 Says:

Nov 22, 2009 - okay, did Tom say "Matt" like 20 times or what? he even ended his last word by saying "Matt"....and where is all the information he had on the subject??? all he did was claim to have information or study it....never did he give any convienceing information.

proximo20 Says:

Nov 22, 2009 - matt lauer is just too stupid to discuss such subjects, his stupidity makes tom look right

Gothicvampyressgwen1 Says:

Nov 22, 2009 - I have A.D.D and I take Anti-deppressants and I feel better and can concentrate better when I take my medications! I can deal with my problems when I am on them wher as when I am not taking them I don't deal with them when I am not on them. People don't have to agree with me but you don't me so you don't know wether or not they work for me. Tom Cruise is not a scientist ,doctor or someone who has to live with it on a daily basis so he can't base his opinions on fact!

ButtersStotch7000 Says:

Nov 22, 2009 - A blood test doesn't tell squat about a psychiatric disorder. An MRI scan would be used to identify the abnormal brain activity associated with psychiatric disorders. Some disorders occur when the brain cannot produce or manage the production of neurotransmitters properly. Some psychiatric drugs can help manage the production of neurotransmitters, and restore normal brain activity.

LightYagame100000 Says:

Nov 22, 2009 - Excuse me? so you dismiss his valid points based on his beliefs? That's not only a logical fallacy, but it's just ... wrong. It's like saying he's muslim, he's not in a position to talk about freedom. That's wht you and everyone else is doing. Judging people based n their beliefs as opposed to their argument. How about from now on we only let atheists and skeptics make the decisions and run society? Or maybe lets just put a computer in charge, since it has no beliefs eh? c'mon man...

LightYagame100000 Says:

Nov 22, 2009 - this is something people are very good at ... judging other people's character, beliefs, ideas, political views, etc... I think we should take some time and look in the mirror for a change ...

Danjd1 Says:

Nov 22, 2009 - Scientologists don't want you paying a pharmaceutical company for drugs. they want you paying them for "remedies", and that is the driving force behind telling their followers to dismiss psychiatry, toss away an entire medical field, now that people, is glib. science and medicine are proven working systems, scientology is a scam for money.

De34g1e Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - Say...at some stage, didn't the founder of scientology say in an interview, and I quote: "..wanna get rich fast? - start a religion" the guillibility of a human being can be quite astounding. But then again, Tom Cruise is more of a nutbag-which is'nt really fair to bags full of nuts.

PatriotMan09 Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - Both are scams. Too many americans are doped up on drugs.

hollywoodsaint57 Says:

n2destiny Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - me to lmbo!!!

n2destiny Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - I dont agree with sciencetologhy but i agree with Tom about the drugs and stuff

terratagONE Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - Antipsychotics kill psychiatry as killed millions Toms right look at the history of psychiatry read the drug research they can't even prove mental illness is real. Its about trying to control you not making you feel better.

vincentvendetta1 Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - Scientology is parallel to exactly that, masking to make u feel better when they are also trying to control you. Scientology sees psychiatry as a feared rival. Both are wrong for people in general.

shethingsd Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - I love how Cruise says "I don't talk about things I don't understand." Yet, he is calling Ritalin an anti-psychotic, so clearly he has no clue about the classifications of drugs nor mental health diagnosis, as ADHD is not psychosis and Ritalin is not an anti-psychotic...nice research there, Tom...

smcobb99 Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - I think Matt is logical throughout and, in 2 major spots, brings out the bigotry of Cruise and Tom just denies it or redirects.

smcobb99 Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - 2:38 -- Yes, Tom is saying his way is the only way. Then you can see him staggering after Matt points it out. And yes, I do know the guys name now!

smcobb99 Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - 4:15 Tom says, "what do you mean by that" but I think he understands the question, he is just buying time to think of a way out. Especially afterwards he says, "you're advocating it" which is off the point because he can't address Matt's good question.

TemplarVision Says:

Nov 24, 2009 - OMG - Tom Cruise is SOOO STUPID and ARROGANT!!! Assuming that he KNOWS all about psychiatry - What a COMPLETE ASSHOLE!!!!
