Nov 18, 2009 - Soprano's are hard to keep in tune. Damn son, his intonation is incredible. I thought it sounded fantastic.

adriancwm Says:
Nov 19, 2009 - You know why his intonation is near perfect? Look at the bell of his horn. Its got a tuner attached to it. Julian can SEE his intonation/tuning as he's playing. Smart chap...These gadgets were meant for practicing...not when you're performing. The joke is...nobody's noticing it!!!
foresearch Says:
Nov 19, 2009 - Julian Smith is an extraordinary artist -there are always liars und jealous nobodies standing against outstanding persons - but musicians know better
pontuse Says:
Nov 19, 2009 - He is actually staring into the tuner the whole time. Soprano's tend to sound well, but there has got to be several 100 other soprano sax players who can do what he does, at nearly half his age. I am not impressed by the sound or his playing, but I am glad see so many are.
chinaeitak Says:
Nov 22, 2009 - Nobody else just him and his sax and it almost made me cry he's so great at it and even if other people could do that how many could go up on stage by themselves and play so well in front of tv and thousands of people and there's a lot of technical things he did so right that you don't notice that makes him so good he's amazing and i loved it

pablosaxo Says:
Nov 24, 2009 - The first part is Rachmaninov piano concerto!!!!!
pablosaxo Says:
Nov 24, 2009 - Totally agree, the fact is that the judges doesn´t know about playing an instrument, less a sax..but people who study hard and do the homework know that the songs he plays, and the way he plays are not difficult, and as you say there are players about 12 that can play like that...Finally I think that people likes it because is pop music, and the people likes this poor forms of music...and this is the way the world is now...POOR
pablosaxo Says:
Nov 24, 2009 - It is not hard to keep in tune...my god, the people are so wrong, or have not got conditions to play...is a man has not good conditions he can practice 12312414 hours, but he will never play well
pablosaxo Says:
Nov 24, 2009 - but he is very very humble, and seems to be a good person
Deathyman Says:
Nov 24, 2009 - @pablosaxo Reminds me of those 12 year old boys that play classic blues with basic chords and soloing off the pentatonic scale, clipping every couple notes, closing his eyes and looking like he has an orgasm is good guitar. _ I'm more impressed by a 13 year old that can play Scarrified (Paul Gilbert) Than a 12 year old boy that can cover Chuck Berry.
DaddyBrent69 Says:
Nov 24, 2009 - I have a question, why do we tear down other people in their talent and who are making something of themelves. If its so easy then why isn't everyone up there or making a name for themselves, just wondering
pablosaxo Says:
Nov 24, 2009 - I play modern jazz...pentatonic scales are very useful...and i close my eyes without knowing why...is that a problem? When you listen to complex music, not like this, and try to practice to achieve a better understanding of the armony, scales and the way to tell something with that i think that what you are saying is product of your wrong judge of me...this man doesn´t say nothing...he plays the notes that other person write, and it is imposible to say something if you do not fell it...
pablosaxo Says:
Nov 24, 2009 - Making something of themselves is not the same to play in a TV programme...the autentic artist don´t think that they have to became famous...they try to get better and try to communicate his feeling to people..your conception of make something of themselves is wrong...you might say "make something to earn money", "or to sell their dignity"...
DaddyBrent69 Says:
Nov 24, 2009 - Your right on that but being a musician myself i just don't see why just because he takes his getting famouse another way, we need to say he is not a real musician. Hell just let people do it the way they need to for family or their dreams.. We all want to be there. am i right? I know i wish i could have, i am old now.
Deathyman Says:
Nov 25, 2009 - @pablosaxo This doesn't change the fact the 12 year old couldn't play guitar. All he could do was fake it incredibly well. They branded him as a talented little boy. To any guitarist alive, he sounds like shit. To any normal person alive, he sounds like a blues god.
