Aug 25, 2009 - Heck,I thought....because of their name,that they might've been from Oklahoma.....I don't know.....
Beatleslvr4ever Says:
Aug 25, 2009 - wait im totally confused.... some people say stillwater is a fake band and is only in the movie, Almost Famous and others say its a real band???
MusicLovesSilence Says:
Aug 27, 2009 - Ok... Ok... That was a little rude... I apologize on behalf of my puny little mind... I find this particular band ironic and quite daring. For one, they named themselves still water. "Rock" and "Roll" just isn't enough anymore. Perhaps they felt their music was beyond anyone's time? No? Where the "rock" that's "rolling" has to come to a complete stop; STILL WATER. After all rolling in the FUTURE eventually stops and becomes "STILL." And the rock? Well... an opposite doesn't hurt, no?
MusicLovesSilence Says:
Aug 27, 2009 - Great band name, alright band. If their music would've matched their awesome band name, maybe the movie would've never been called "Almost Famous."
warriorofwrestlingv3 Says:
Aug 29, 2009 - The band 'Stillwater' from the movie is fictional, but Director Cameron Crowe used the name of a real band for his group. This 'Stillwater' is that band. So the song being played here was a real song, released by the real band
ganeco Says:
Aug 31, 2009 - Stillwater was/is a real band that originated in the Macon, GA area in the early to mid 1970's (actually, they are from Warner Robins, GA). They recorded under the Capricorn Records label for a while. The band in the movie used the name Stillwater, but was actually based on the Allman Brothers Band...

Sep 25, 2009 - I love Stillwater. I saw them at Uncle Toms Tavern in Stone Mountain back in the early 80's. I have some excellent photos of them. If you want I can email them to you. I have to scrounge them up first, but they are close up and good quality.

Oct 13, 2009 - if someone makes an infinatley ignorant comment about bands members from a 70s rock groups hair they are going to be met with an equally ignorant response...
StevieeBee Says:
Oct 13, 2009 - Wow. You just outed yourself as "ignorant." Of course, all the rest of us already knew that about you...
anycolouryouwant Says:
Oct 14, 2009 - i am 19 year old, i dont doubt that i am ignorant in some respects... however i didnt "out myself as ignorant" i said that i had made an ignorant comment... over a year ago... im sure we are all capaapble of making ignorant comments.. its doesnt mean you are inherantly ignorant

Nov 12, 2009 - one un noticed band of the 70s is better than so many bands around today, so much talent at that time, if only bands like this could be noticed, appreciated and enjoyed by everyone
