Nov 22, 2009 - According to some sites it orginally came from the writings of Pliny the Elder (A.D. 23-79), who wrote that Ostriches "imagine, when they have thrust their head and neck into a bush, that the whole of their body is concealed." and for some reason it just caught on, course not to many folk had seen one back then.
