Jun 25, 2009 - I think this was the steal of the draft! Nuggets get THE championship PG of this class without even having a 1st rounder. He's got heart, accuracy, and speed. Rubio will get the early exposure on that sorry team, but Lawson will definitely be in competition for best PG in this class down the road. He's learning behind Billups and should take Anthony Carter's minutes next season... damn i want NBA again! oh well, NFL us like 1.5 months away! Go Nuggets and Falcons

Jun 26, 2009 - u also gotta realize that he doesnt have to be a starter. After all he wasnt a lotto pick. Billups is what 32 i think. So he prolly got like 2 more years at most i think. Thats great for lawson to learn to since theres a perception he cant play half court. Nuggets love to run too so its perfect. I woulda wanted him in New York under D'antoni it woulda been perfect.

Lawson is a proven winner and look at the dude's stats. 47percent from 3 point range. Turnover ratio is like 3.5 to 1 thats just sick. All these other point guards looked like children against him. He made scottie reynolds his bitch along with everyone else in the tournament. Learning under billups he is just going to get better.

Jun 26, 2009 - he's gonna be the backup PG. Denver's Guard depth chart is kinda weird, because Smith alternates between PG and SG alot. Lawson will most likely be Billups's top backup PG on the actual chart, but Smith will see more minutes than him at Point. Lawson should get roughly 7-10 minutes per game, like Carter did last year.

Jun 28, 2009 - anthony carter played 23 minutes a game last year. smith will see more sg minutes and fewer pg minutes if lawson shows early that he can create shots/opportunities in the halfcourt set at an nba level.

Jun 28, 2009 - oh, i forgot about his regular season minutes! his playoff average time was much lower, around 7 to 10 per game i believe. I still think carter is going to be cut, or see a dramatic decrease in minutes if Lawson proves himself in the preseason workouts and preseason games.
