Jun 11, 2009 - you can get lessons at twelve if you can persuade your mom to tag along and - most likely - pay. you must be able to do 200 m swim, 10 mins of treading water, 15 metres uw swim and some minor skin diving skills. go gadget

Jul 11, 2009 - are you retarded? You have to be 16 to get an OW cert, 10 and younger is called Junior diving. and Yes you need to be able to swim in order to dive.

Jul 11, 2009 - yes you are allowed to get your Ocean Water certification when you are 16 and over. Yeah You have to be a good swimmer in order to dive. When you go diving you are fine with little swimming experience but when things go wrong its good to learn how to swim. Overall I suggest you become a better swimmer

Sep 28, 2009 - I had to swim 200 yards and tread for 15 min. THAT was the hardest part. Other than that, Its all fun. Oh, yeah, the skin dive, I had to swim under water for 40 feet after diving straight down 12. The weight belt kinda sucks too during surface exercises.
