Dec 24, 2008 - Given John P's and Frank W's mutual interest in certain recreational herbs and substances, you have to wonder if Werber had managed the MP if they would have ever made it past rehearsing in a basement in San Francisco. Jim M.

Feb 3, 2009 - Is the Mermaid's Tale the one that begins "Twas Friday Morn when we set sail and we were not far from land . . ." with a chorus of "and we poor sailors go skipping to the top and the landlubbers lie down below, below below"? if so, I have the lyrics for that, at least.

Feb 7, 2009 - The whole folk era was changing by the time this was recorded. This had to be around 1966 or 67 maybe? I remember a lot people tried to imitate them. Donovan didn't wear the vertical stripe shirts. Folk went electric. Still, they had a big impact upon folk and rock even to this day. It is a sound that sticks with you.

Apr 17, 2009 - Did you ever wonder: Why there are simple songs and simple singers? Well, you need not wonder now that you heard the Kingston Trio.

May 18, 2009 - I guess it's weird for a 15 year old girl to like this music in modern times, but i really do love this.

HaulAwayJoe Says:

May 18, 2009 - It's not weird. I'm a 16 year old guy and I think this is way better than anything out there today. The world needs more people like us who like this kind of music.

May 29, 2009 - I'm 26 and they make today's "musicians" look foolish. The oldies are the best!

canoer2 Says:

Jun 7, 2009 - I noticed in Little Maggie in Bob's solo he uses the words, "gonna join another band", instead of "goin to a far distant land". Was that a play on the fact that the band was breaking up. I sure would like to ask Bob about that.

Aug 11, 2009 - I'm 38 I firsttheard Tom Dooley when I was about 9 yrs oldsaw when I first saw them on a PBS special (believe it was a reunion) After that I don't think I really paid much attention to their music. About a year ago another specai on PBS was on their whole career then I was hooked. What GREAT music. From the original trio to the John Stewart era, they gave us great music :)

Aug 15, 2009 - These guys were great at taking a good ballad, like Colors, and giving it a slightly upbeat rendition!
