Sep 29, 2009 - He's wearing two watches! What would he do if they ever got out of sync?!
santax123 Says:
Oct 2, 2009 - He probably has 2 timezones on them. Lots of people who travel a lot to different timezones do that.

Oct 11, 2009 - I was a student at UCSB and attended (worked at) this event. At the time I didn't know much about Douglas Adams but I had the privilege of sitting with him during the book signing and being his assistant for a few hours. I've worked with all sorts of 'talent' and he seemed like an especially nice guy. If memory serves, he died a month or so later.

Oct 19, 2009 - Two clocks can never be in sync... an old saying I once read from a very famous man. It's true though.

Oct 25, 2009 - Hey, in regards to the Dolphin section: It's too late. Once there are under a thousand of a complex organism, coming back from the brink is rather impossible as the genes of the creature aren't variable enough to hold off the genetic issues brought on from prolonged incest. See the problem the Cheetahs are facing.

Oct 27, 2009 - The saying is: A man with one watch always knows what time it is. A man with two watches is never sure.

Nov 9, 2009 - Don't tell Dave Mills that. For over 25 years his software has been synchronizing clocks on the Internet (and on DARPAnet before it). Technically you are correct. The clock on my computer could be as much as 100ns (I doubt it's more than that and could well be a lot less) different from atomic time standards. I think that's close enough for all practical purposes. Several years ago Microsoft finally made Windows synch to time standards. Badly. Very badly.
bdf2718 Says:
Nov 9, 2009 - Adams was a great author. He was the author of a lot of Dr Who episodes as well as HHGTTG. And while I hate remakes, and especially hate Steven Fry for being a pretentious twat, I love this kakapo remix (for Rachel Maddow cracking up). watch?v=dQfNZWEwN0I - whap, whap, whap...

Nov 9, 2009 - Douglas, my dearest friend. Can I say that? You did not know me. And I would not presume to impose upon our relationship. But, my friend (if a am allowed to give you that appelation) you have my deepest love. OK, I love Dawkins more and he's alive. but I feel sure you'll undertand in magicland. I hope to buggery I'm wrong about Gawd, because you (of all people) deserve better than extinction.

Nov 20, 2009 - I can't count how many times I've sat and randomly started watching this video and every time he has me laughing out loud with the: "Now, suppose that there's a female out there, which it probably isn't, and that she likes the sound, which she probably won't, and that she manages to find him, which she probably can't, she will only consent to mate... if the podokap-tree is in fruit!" Though I haven't found any mention of this tree in literature, they do mention that the kakapo are fond of Rimu

GeminiPrimeX Says:
Sep 22, 2009 - Not to lessen the contributions by Einstein, Hubble, JFK and many other great thinkers of the previous century, but Douglas Adams was the greatest of them all.
