Jul 30, 2009 - They are talking about God in a poetic sense, the US is a secular state.

hellstrife Says:

Jul 30, 2009 - Yep. Many of the founders were either deists or closeted atheists. In fact, one of the big "smears" of the time was against Thomas Jefferson for supposedly being atheist - and he was the man who wrote the document itself!

AfroBaki Says:

Aug 5, 2009 - God Bless our forefathers for declaring independence from the tyranny of England. I would love to read the Declaration of Indepence right into the face of Barak Obama!

Aug 27, 2009 - I'm curious as to how many of these peopel are obama supporters, most I'm sure.

KenMacMillan Says:

Aug 27, 2009 - Technically speaking we are not secular or a state. We are not a theocracy but if we were secular nobody would believe in god and it wouldn't be important to so many people for their elected officials to believe. Also we wouldn't have a pastor for the president. It would be nice if we were though. We aren't a state, we are a republic.

KenMacMillan Says:

Aug 27, 2009 - Spelling = people

Sep 1, 2009 - And what do these Hollywood folks think about Cass Sustein, Van Jones, Mark Llyod, Jeff Jones, Bill Ayers all proclaimed radicals, Marxists, communists, terrorists - AKA: "Progressives" working with Obama in his Administration, who himself has yet to reject his own Marxism and communism?

KenMacMillan Says:

Sep 1, 2009 - They probably think they're nice guys. Typical liberal hypocrisy. Except Mel Gibson, lol

Xeham Says:

Sep 1, 2009 - hearing this kinda gave me hope that maybe our country is not lost and that we can do something about it in order for the United States of Amerca to regain the freedom that has been slowly and continues to be taken away and to overthrow the corrupt government officials starting with our current president.

Sep 20, 2009 - I get what you're saying. But actually, the founding fathers got most of their ideas for the constitution from Great Britain. The colonists broke free because the King chose not to follow the nation's setup. The ideas for the constitution were taken from Britain's Magna Carta and from the ideas of John Locke. It wasn't the nation itself they disliked, it was the king.

rad4life1 Says:

Sep 20, 2009 - Thankyou, I didnt know that the American Constitution borrowed from Magna Carta, but I was aware that it was the King that they were revolting against.

Oct 3, 2009 - Thank you for posting this. It's one thing to read it on paper, but it's something entirely different to hear the Declaration of Independence as it ought to be read.

parisideon Says:

Oct 4, 2009 - These are important words that should be heard by all Americans regardless of party affiliation. I have known many good and true people of the Democrat, Republican, and Independent parties, and I believe each of these would say that you must hear these words have reverence, that you should examine ones own current political state and question. How does government get better otherwise? God Bless America

Nov 15, 2009 - This is so inspiring. I got goosebumps =).

ProudConservative2 Says:

Nov 22, 2009 - The amazing thing about this video that shows me how awesome the words read aloud here is that most of these actors were thinking about George Bush and the Republicans. I hear it and think about Obama and the Democrat congress (with RINOS) that are spending us into oblivion.

1TreeHillRULEZ Says:

Nov 22, 2009 - First off, I can tell your bias based on your username alone. But I believe you would LIKE to think that. But I doubt you could say what they were thinking of while reading this. For example, Whoopi Goldberg is a very outspoken liberal. Therefore, I don't know how supportive she could have been of George Bush's presidency. I don't think they would have to think of the current president while reading this, persay. I bet they are just proud of their heritage and where their country started.

ProudConservative2 Says:

Nov 22, 2009 - My point is that the words are so powerful and universal that they work for either side.
