Aug 11, 2009 - Tus abuelos tenían y tienen un gusto exquisito. Ojalá a tu abuela le queden aún muchos años de seguir disfrutando con ellos.

Aug 13, 2009 - she died from anorexia
dehorc Says:
Aug 14, 2009 - Oh, thank you for that one - I needed a good laugh! :D And I can giggle about it even though I'm whittling my body fat down like Karen did, because Karen and I were both cursed with mega-fat thighs at our 'normal' body weights. I've been working on decreasing those damn thighs/butt for 25 years, trying to avoid crossing the line to anorexia....but I'll tell you, even when you know *exactly* what you are doing it's STILL hard for a hyper-sensitive person to avoid the pitfall of anorexia.
shoponline831 Says:
Aug 21, 2009 - No. actually she died of recovering from anorexia. She went from 78 lbs to 108 lbs in just 6 weeks. After years of starving herself, she should of put on that weight more slowly. Maybe she would still be around today.
binkle1 Says:
Aug 24, 2009 - OMIGOD! She'd be my husband's age if she hadn't died. Really shakes me up. WAY too young to go. Her voice was incredible, and Richard's arrangements were amazing!
lilliansmart Says:
Aug 30, 2009 - Actually if a child is deprived of physical affection from the parents, especially the mother, it can contribute to diseases like anorexia, which are related to feelings of self-loathing. My aunt is a nice lady but hardly ever hugged her daughters and one is of them, the one who was always more sensitive, is an anorexic.

Sep 5, 2009 - One truely amazing voice. She was gifted and dont' think she realised. A very sad loss for the world so we must let the Carpenters music live on for those that missed it!!
monkeyygrl22 Says:
Sep 17, 2009 - wow what a tragic story rip karen!
aghoranathi Says:
Sep 18, 2009 - Haha, you have not avoided it (anorexia) ! Get help now so your friends don't have to watch you lie to yourself... Karen was insulted by arseholes in the media about her looks, she was not insecure more than any of us would be if we were attacked on the world stage. Etrue my arse.
aghoranathi Says:
Sep 18, 2009 - WOW, don't take any of the blame Hollywood, just blame the individual, just like psychiatry, sick society, saying that individuals are innately flawed when in actuality they experience normal reactions to alienating environments.
dehorc Says:
Sep 18, 2009 - Sorry to disappoint. There are some of us who live on the border of disorder all of the time we like it that way. My friends are all middle-aged/older men, they don't give a crap about things like this. They're not interested, don't notice (unless you become obese), don't care - as long as you look good that's all they care about. That and how much sex they are getting. Can't go with your theory about media being the sole cause of her problem. The media attacks ALL celebrities, constantly.
aghoranathi Says:
Sep 18, 2009 - I am not disappointed. Your friends sound shallow and over sexed. If you enjoy experiencing the control and the attention that comes from starving yourself a little make sure that there are other things like your wit and charming personality that you use in the same way for the same gain. If you do not possess these qualities (although I am sure you do) just read a few old books.
dehorc Says:
Sep 18, 2009 - My friends are like most men out there, but the ones I've kept are very secure, *witty*, fun have a wonderful quick sarcastic sense of humour. Yes, I love the control/attention I get out of it - it's why I do it. I do possess wit, can turn on an alarming amount of charm quite often. The wit I was born with, the charm came with the practice of empathy manipulation the projection of warmth and humour. I derived none of my character traits from the many hundreds of books I've read.
aghoranathi Says:
Sep 18, 2009 - So basically you are fine, good day.
zombiebunny82 Says:
Oct 12, 2009 - I agree with liliansmart, bless poor Karen. Very tragic. Its less about eating to stay thin and attractive and more about trying to keep some level of control due to events they havent had any conrol over in the past. My heart goes out to those who suffer this condition. x

DegrassiInstantStar Says:
Nov 14, 2009 - She wasn't a waste of life. No one is a waste of life, no matter how troubled or sick they end up getting.
born2booze2 Says:
Nov 15, 2009 - Well, it clearly was a waste of life because she died at such an early age, she was extremely talented and had so much more to give.
DegrassiInstantStar Says:
Nov 15, 2009 - I just don't agree with the wording of "waste of life" because it sounds like she shouldn't have even had it, which I don't agree with. Without her life and her struggles, we would've never known about this disease so greatly and such.
born2booze2 Says:
Nov 16, 2009 - Well, you've clearly misinterpreted what i meant.
DegrassiInstantStar Says:
Nov 16, 2009 - No because I get where you're coming from, I honestly do. I just don't like the way you've worded it with "waste" of life. I don't see it as that way nor do I believe anyone else should. Not saying anything against you, so don't think I am.
