Feb 4, 2009 - Believe both the L2D and LD20 are great lights. Almost identical performance with the LD20 being a hair better in test but so close that only a technical test will reveal difference. If not a flashaholic you might consider the L2D if a good discount. Btw. Got two Fenix on their way - An LD20 and a PD20. The LD for "normal" use and the PD when going light - LOL. Having my eyes on LD10 (cause AA) and TK20 also. Yes, I Know i can get a LD10 body but IMHO the price diff where I live is ridiculous.

Jun 16, 2009 - Just got my pd30 today. I'm in love!!!!! It's lightweight, small, tough, and very bright. Gonna have to get the rechargable 123a batteries cause they are no doubt a little on the expensive side(Only drawback to the light). Also love the strobe mode. I would highly recommend this light to anyone.
hammyhammond Says:
Jun 26, 2009 - i know you say the l2d runs on 2 AA batteries but doesnt that mean thats light is running at 3v anyway? or does it stay at 1.5? cos i bought a pd30 and it says it uses 2 of the cr batteries so does that mean it'll be running on 6v?
cheese22092 Says:
Jul 5, 2009 - the p3d is better than the L2d.... but the l2d uses AA batteries which u can get anywhere.... but the p3d uses some weird expensive camra batteries... and the p3d is only a little better that the l2d
hughes7520 Says:
Jul 31, 2009 - The P3D runs on 1.5 volt CR123's which means its a 3v light
flakey1337 Says:
Aug 10, 2009 - L2d is better trust me. You will regret that decision as you will constantly have to feed it Cr123a's. you can get ni-mh rechargable's CHEAP at your local home depot or other hardware store. and you will SIGNIFICANTLY reduce your running costs.
DangerDad29 Says:
Aug 10, 2009 - Thanks for the feedback. Actually I ended up picking up a P2D. Only one CR123 battery (which are actually cheaper online than buying AA's from walmart) I just wanted an EDC so it fits the bill, although I've added one to my survival kit as well. Functions are flawless as is the beem. No complaints about this little light, Definately will pick up a 2 cell version for the truck :) Also, side note dont use the higher voltage rechargeables, shorts the light... and voids the warranty.

Sep 5, 2009 - I hate to say, but it looked like that's why the turbo mode hardly did anything. I have heard some lights need a minimum output from a source like AA to run turbo, not 100% on that. Hard to knock him for it though, with all the gear he dragged up there. Should really carry spares in the truck though, he probably has them and forgot. I'm going for the TA30 for the run time.

Jan 13, 2009 - Make sure you buy the Fenix LD20 or PD30. Those are the updated models of the Fenix L2D and the L3D. I just got the LD20 Q5 and it's a great light. Perfect for traveling, around the house or as a car emergency light (traffic cone!). Between the LD20 and PD30, I guess it just depends on the battery ecosystem you maintain. I only have AA-battery stuff (computer mouse, keyboard, GPS etc.) so it made sense to get the LD20. Otherwise look at the PD30. Fenix combines great quality with a modest price.
