Nov 6, 2009 - Don't have a prob with Aguilera so much but otherwise I know exactly what you mean. I was born in the 80s bt managed to absorb a much of the musical innovation I could at the time. I would love to break the time/space continuum to go back and absorb it all (except for the dire political situation!). Always been a 80s baby but the more uninspired music becomes the more I look back to then and to some extent the 90s for musical relief. The likes of Calvin Harris still got the 80s attitude tho'.

Nov 6, 2009 - Man I feel exactly the same. I was born 83 but I mean, I was just a kid in the 80's. Sometimes I wish I was like 15 when the 80's started. Especially when I hear songs like get rich or die tryin'.

Nov 6, 2009 - London seemed so much cooler in the 80's for some reason..never been there but when I watch videos for songs like west end girls..it just looked so cool!

Nov 6, 2009 - I hear you loud and clear Alex, loud and clear. It's up to us 80s babies to keep the spirit of the decade alive in music@ least ;-)

Nov 7, 2009 - Quite mate. I'm not british but the 80's without those smashing british singers and bands would have been less exciting.

Nov 9, 2009 - A great part of new wave, UK artist is so true, Bananarama, Duran, Adam Ant, so many and ABC was a great part of it. They were So smart to use MTV to their advantage

Nov 9, 2009 - That's funny. I was exactly 15 in 1980 and I blood loved the 80's music and spirit everywhere in Europe. I don't know how it is now a days but the music and youth look very depressing and unhappy to me. I was in England and London in the summer of 1987 and man that was amazing. Amazing spirit of freedom, of having fun, of being young. To me everything looks worse, more negative and aggressive but maybe it's just my impression of being old at my 44. Looks like yesterday though, I still feel same

Nov 14, 2009 - i was an infant in 1980 =)) but i love this music of my childhood. But at those times here in Russia we haven't got much possibility to hear and watch western music videos... and thanks God that presently we free to do what we want (of cause in a borders of a law ) =)))
Ivor662 Says:
Nov 14, 2009 - Great song but if there's some sort of inverse ratio measurement for best song to worst video, ABC wins!

Nov 14, 2009 - This video is typical of one of the first pioneering videos.

Nov 15, 2009 - Brit and Aussie bands had some of the greatest talent and voices in the world, especially in the 70's and 80's. Thanks to youtube, I can still listen to these great tunes.
mkkm7 Says:
Nov 17, 2009 - Hi Andreymok. I was in Russia in 1984 when I was 19 and visited Moscow, Leningrad, Kiev and Tallin, and indeed it was another world. A very sad and isolated world with no freedom, secret police, KGB everywhere, corruption, fear, black market, and the discos were like the ones from the 60's in the West of Europe, very old fashioned. I know what you mean. I'm glad communism is not there anymore and you may enjoy some freedom (nobody is completely free but communisim and fascism are terrible).

Nov 6, 2009 - The 80's what an era of music we had...such bands like ABC, Human League, Bananarama, Duran all UK artists... still Duran are going strong..What crap the music industry is producing releasing these days, absolute disgrace....
