Oct 4, 2009 - Fiction and myth. Both are not true. That's cool. Lewis never claimed to believe in fawns and fairies. I think he just enjoyed fiction. I don't think that just because he wasn't pagan he had to discard elements from it to write his fiction. I guess we think that Christians are always oppossed 100% to whatever non-Christians do. Not true. We're people and we all have imaginations. We just use them in different ways. Peace.

Oct 13, 2009 - what did he say at 0.56? ------ thing seems to have really happened once. What was the word before "thing"?

Oct 20, 2009 - My favorite verse is 1 Samuel 15:3 - it just shows the love of God and Jesus Christ.
jajdr Says:
Oct 25, 2009 - doesn't God have the moral right to do whatever He wants? God destroys some and saves others, what is it to you?
Findulidas Says:
Nov 10, 2009 - Yes because christians are never against homosexuals, abortions, death help and such. And its not like the biggest "christian nation" on earth goes to war against atleast one muslim nation each decade. Clearly christianity is a peaceful religion which doesnt bother any of its neighbors with its beliefs at all.
Findulidas Says:
Nov 10, 2009 - The only historic record of anyone that could be jesus is from josephus and his records has been tampered with by christians. Outside of the bible (which by the way is full of historical errors to begin with) there is not enough proof to be certain of that jesus even existed. Now to go on to say that there are records of his resurrection and miracles is a lie. Let me point out that there were many jewish prophets around at that time, all claiming to have done miracles.
theheavensdeclare Says:
Nov 10, 2009 - Are you upset with God or are you upset with Christians? I think I know what you'll say but I could be wrong, You may question whether God even exists so that may mean you are upset with Christians. I think it's important to know from you though before I go on.
southmcl Says:
Nov 11, 2009 - Why is it that when atheists say there is no god, or there is no way of knowing if there is a god, christians assume we are angry? If we could get past just this point, we would do a lot to advance the discussion... Just because we state the "fact" that god is unknowable with the current evidence shouldn't lead you to believe we are angry with something we don't believe in. Or that we are angry with those that believe in something that isn't real.
theheavensdeclare Says:
Nov 11, 2009 - So you're not angry. That's great! Sometimes sarcasm means people are a little irritated. When someone claims that we are "peaceful" sarcastically I don't think they're thinking very positively towards us, That is why I ask...is Findulidas is angry? Are you the same person?
theheavensdeclare Says:
Nov 11, 2009 - Also, I asked because I didn't want to assume this. That is all.
Findulidas Says:
Nov 12, 2009 - I think your just upset with people that question your beliefs and you dont really have anything to defend yourself with except trying to make it seem as if they are just doing it for emotional reasons. "Are you upset with krishna? Its alright its just a phase." No one could be upset with a fictional character like god. You can however be upset with a religion enforcing its beliefs upon others. Ex. banning homosexuality.
theheavensdeclare Says:
Nov 12, 2009 - "You can be upset with a religion enforcing its beliefs upon others." So this means "someone" can be upset with religion but southmcl is not upset and you have not said whether or not you are upset. No, I like it when people question my beliefs this challenges me. It's good to ask questions. I need to know what I believe in. Your point about Josephus: Where did you back that up? What source did you get this from. I'ld like to check it out.
Findulidas Says:
Nov 13, 2009 - It should be pretty obvious from what ive written that some things some christians do does upset me. Like try to bomb abortion clinics and illegalice same sex marriage based on thier beliefs. Christians in general doesnt upset me. Its not the beliefs but the actions you base upon it thats dangerous. You could go for the wikipedia on "josephus on jesus" which is quite full of good sources on the subject (sources are at the bottem as usual in wikipedia).
theheavensdeclare Says:
Nov 13, 2009 - I'm sorry you feel this way towards these actions. I feel the same way. I don't support bombing abortion clinics. I do not support anyone being hateful towards homosexuals. Hate does not solve anything. Jesus told us to love those who are our enemies. That includes people who hurt us. But I woudn't say Jesus would say yeah go ahead and murder, lie, steal, etc. since they'll love ya anyway. I'm sorry you feel this way.
theheavensdeclare Says:
Nov 13, 2009 - It's kind of interesting to think that as I was raised atheist I don't recall being angry at Christians either. I don't think I really knew any at the time. I hope you get to know some of us. We're not as ugly as some would say about us. Though sometimes we are. LOL This means we need to say we are wrong when we are wrong. You just need to really ask them what they believe because some people believe different things and sometimes they say something is in the Bible and it really isn't.
theheavensdeclare Says:
Nov 13, 2009 - The search for truth is important. Don't give up even if it means that it proves you wrong. Ouch. Truth proves us wrong sometimes. Or are you and I right all the time? Well, I can safely say that no I am not right all the time. and here it goes I'm going to say the word Thank God for that." I used to hate to be wrong.
Findulidas Says:
Nov 14, 2009 - While its true that jesus sometimes was very peaceful he also sometimes was very hateful and aggressive. Like when he made a scourge to whip the money changers. That to me kind of is a symbol of how christianity works. You have to pick and choose the parts you like and ignore the parts that clearly are immoral to actually get an acceptable religion. Most people are normal friendly christians but sometimes you get people like Fred Phelps. Which most likely reads the same bible as you.
theheavensdeclare Says:
Nov 14, 2009 - Well. I looked that up in John. Yes he did get upset. People get upset. Christian and non. Anger is not a "sin" or error. Remember our previous discussion? People slam doors, get sarcastic, speak loudly and that lets us know something doesn't jive with them. Read the next comment...
theheavensdeclare Says:
Nov 14, 2009 - Let me just preface this by saying that you and I can not convince each other all we can do is respond. This is what I've got: Look this reference up. Why did Jesus use this whip and what did he do with it? Read what is there and then you can tell me what you understand if you'ld like.
Findulidas Says:
Nov 15, 2009 - He obviously made a whip which he used on the moneylenders to help drive them out. He wouldnt need a whip to just overturn the tables and drive the cattle out. I wonder why he didnt just use his powers to do something peaceful to show his statement instead. Like turn the coins to sand and scare the cattle away. He should be able to if he was the son of god.
southmcl Says:
Nov 17, 2009 - sorry heavens, i rarely have time to login anymore. No, we are not the same person. My comment was in reply to this portion of your comment. "You may question whether God even exists so that may mean you are upset with Christians." I'm not sure where an assumption like this comes from. I don't know a single atheist that is angry at christians. Most of us used to be christians. I was simply attempting to understand why you think like that. Is it ignorance of an atheistic world view?

Nov 21, 2009 - i dont understand why the explanation (or lack of) is so vague shitty. this video doesnt describe or detail WHY this CS Lewis guy preferred to Christianity to Hinduism, it ust made the assumption that other religions are pagan religions and that he converted to Xianity because Xianity is true, this is really weak. I think this vie just preaches to the choir. I dont believe this conversion actually happened. Its sad that people who supposedly hold authoritive morality would lie to seamlessly

jscottjscott2121 Says:
Oct 3, 2009 - You don't "gotta love it". It's neither funny nor ironic, since to him, Christianity wasn't mythical. His Chronicles of Narnia stories used pagan myths, first of all cause pagan myths are awesome, but secondly, because he was trying to use myth to mirror what he viewed as truth.
