Oct 3, 2009 - They're from the British Isles ie = British. Accept it. He didn't say from the UK or Great Britain. If you come from one of England's satellite countries you're British, even if you do buy your cornflakes with Euros.
lauramwynne Says:
Oct 3, 2009 - crowebrook:i hate to break the newa to you but if your from southern ireland, you are not british!!!

Oct 12, 2009 - It amazes me that Ricky Gervais has been able to ride his miniscule talent for as long as he has. Its testament to the low standards of Americans. I remember him wandering the Edinburgh festival a few years ago in a bad fitting pin stripe suit, trying to drum up work. To me he hasnt changed one bit, funny, but not that bloody funny.
ritareyes100 Says:
Oct 13, 2009 - Obviously you do not know your history very well. The Low standards of the Americans. He has never had a television show in America that I am aware of. But he has had two in Britain, The Office and Extras. Who has the low standards now.

Oct 13, 2009 - You guys are crazy upset about the naming of people in certain countries, We have people over here, who have no ancestory from africa, or have ever been there, calling themselves african americans.... lol, it's not worth it.
UKVivaLaVida Says:
Oct 14, 2009 - I am putting new Karl Pilkington Ricky Gervais videos on my channel all the time. SUSCRIBE TO ME!
pocketjeffs Says:
Oct 15, 2009 - if the British want to claim Westlife as their own, let them. Fill their boots I say
nordhorny Says:
Oct 15, 2009 - well it is subjective ignorance if we do....
pocketjeffs Says:
Oct 15, 2009 - I was making a satirical point regarding how terrible Westlife are/were. I wasn't making a political comment but I admire your beliefs...But seriously Westlife are English. If only we had a band as great as them...ahem
nordhorny Says:
Oct 15, 2009 - I suspected so, as was just closing the door on any suggestion that they are british. It is not a 'belief'. And why do you finish with 'But seriously Westlife are English' ? They are not english nor british, but irish.
Jaspeare Says:
Oct 17, 2009 - he tried too hard in the one with Bono too which was only mildly funny. He can't be too subtle in these broad comic relief sketches.
sanmal88 Says:
Oct 18, 2009 - I don't much care for westlife.
Albionwhore Says:
Oct 22, 2009 - LOL "I don't even give my family money." What the fuck is wrong with this audience? This was so perfect. Anything that isn't as blatant as Little Britain goes straight over their heads...

ajmcc8 Says:
Oct 31, 2009 - that was probably one of the funniest things i have ever seen, ricky gervais is a once in a generation comedian. i don't understand how people didn't wet themselves, although, there was a lot of in-humour, if you didn't know rickys style you might not find it funny
lickstickly Says:
Nov 5, 2009 - completely agree comic relief audiences are the worst, steve coogan got the same problem in a sketch he did with simon pegg, you have to throw a bloody pie to appeal to them
pacbizkit Says:
Nov 5, 2009 - i found it reli funy, n i got all the subtle in jokes n stuff. bt i rarely laff owt loud, maybe its the same with that audience, plus the fact theyve had starvin africans shoved down ther throats all nyt lol

nordhorny Says:
Sep 30, 2009 - He said "based on the songs of one of Britain's best loved bands" This is ambiguous, it could mean (as you have interpreted it) 'a band from Britain and one of the best loved (which IS INCORRECT because they are from the R o I) or it could mean 'one of the best loved bands in Britain' meaning they are popular in Britain, but not implying they are British. I am from Northern Ireland and know the sensitivities of wrong labelling and I would correct anyone being ignorant about such things.
