Oct 22, 2009 - can you tell what im saying i mean i just installed katakana and i was wondering if you can translate this in english please!(クニ リイカト コイ コナシシニイト)
syth184 Says:
Oct 22, 2009 - katakana is used for foreign words. I'm a third semester student in japanese, so you probably want to have written that in hiragana. but here is the romaji version of what you wrote: kuni riikato koi konatsutsuniito are you sure you got the right characters? I'm no expert but i couldn't figure out anything other than i know "kuni" means "nation" or "homeland". and "koi" is one of those oh so lovable homophones. could mean anything to me. the oher two words appear to be nonsense
yellowvizard Says:
Oct 23, 2009 - lol i new something was wrong! i think i didnt install it right becuse everytime i type in S i get TO IN KATAKANA! And if i type in the question mark i get KI! what did i do wrong?
syth184 Says:
Oct 27, 2009 - im not actually sure, i found a tutorial on how to intall it on my computer through google. There should be some option you jsut turn on in your control panel, i cant quite remember how, but it allows you to type in romaji, and it converts it to hiragana or katakana for you, as well as kanji. jsut google search for it
yellowvizard Says:
Oct 29, 2009 - let me try again see if you can translate this in english plz!( ヒ ニセ ト メエt ユ)
syth184 Says:
Nov 1, 2009 - hi nise meet yu you have a t in there though if that word is english anyway it spells out to "meet". though in japanese those 'e's are pronounced "eh" so im kind of confused there. as for translation, best guess: day fake with/and meet you. "ill meet you on a fake day" perhaps? not the best grammar to my knowledge. though i dont exactly speak japanese
vortexz Says:
Nov 4, 2009 - were you trying to say that in english you have to say that like in english because im also a 3rd semester Jap student and I cant figure what you are trying to say if it was hi nice to meet you in Katakana its this(i think):ハイナイストウミトユ。im not sure though guess i should study some more
yellowvizard Says:
Nov 4, 2009 - LOL Yea Nice to meet you was what i was trying to saying lol
yellowvizard Says:
Nov 4, 2009 - yea that was it HI NICE TO MEET YOU what did i do wrong lol
syth184 Says:
Nov 6, 2009 - oh lawl, I thought you were trying to translate with japanese words, i cant belive i didnt notice that. ok then yeah i can help you out. in japanese characters you have to use prnunciation as opposed to spelling. so you would put "hai naisu to miito yuu" (there is no "tu" sound in japanese) however in katakana you can put a small "u" after "to" to make "tu" ハイ ナイス ト ミート ユー there are also no spaces in japanese by the way

FireBomby Says:
Nov 9, 2009 - @vortexz Say, is Japanese a pretty difficult class to take?
asiancrackerfolife Says:
Nov 10, 2009 - English and Japanese grammar usage is different. Like in English you will say "I want this" in Japanese it would be "I this want" and that is correct grammar.
vortexz Says:
Nov 10, 2009 - Honestly I dont think so; however, I think it depends on the Teacher. if you have one that knows you're not gonna learn an evolving language in a year, no its not at all and can be quite amazing when you start to notice your picking up on words and sentences.
powerninjapan Says:
Nov 17, 2009 - Didn't you know? This artist is the same as GReeeeN.
