Gizmologist09 Says:

Nov 15, 2009 - Yanni was born in Kalamata ,Greece.

Nov 17, 2009 - GREAT elevator and mall music ! (I mean the elevator that takes you up a building)

Gizmologist09 Says:

Nov 17, 2009 - I am dying to hear what YOU think is true music. If you want to call Yanni's masterpieces "elevator music" so be it, but several hundred million people around the world will simply laugh at you. You may have missed the fact that his music is used in performances of all kinds around the world, movie soundtracks, and hundreds of sold out concerts for 20+ years.

nevertheless123 Says:

Nov 17, 2009 - Elevator music is indeed popular because there are elevators everywhere and so are malls. !! hehehe What do I think true music is? I dont think there is any such thing. But can give you examples of better music than this one: Mahler: Das lied Von erde Schubert impromptus. And 1000 other examples of course these dont have the techno beat you love so much.

nevertheless123 Says:

Nov 17, 2009 - one hundred million people are his fans? I suppose thats the population of Greece ! hahahaha He is the most famous Greek after Alexander the great ! Not bad.

yawgmothfluffy Says:

Nov 17, 2009 - that doesn't mean to say this isn't an accomplished work, nor that it's unskillfully crafted or performed. if the guy has this to express, techno beat et al, it's certainly different to Schubert impromptus. Hell, it's COMPLETELY different - take one look at the orchestra and tell me that's comparable. i'm sure you can say you prefer one over the other, and that perhaps one is more a masterpiece which is largely ignored today - which is frustrating i agree - but this is still exceptional.

nevertheless123 Says:

Nov 17, 2009 - To give you some more examples of better music: Pink Floyd: wall, dark side of the moon and wish you were here. Led Zeppelin - most of their stuff.

Gizmologist09 Says:

Nov 17, 2009 - Neverthe less why do you keep coming back to music that you don"t like? Obviously you get your jollies trying act as though different styles of music are superior. Your sole purpose is to annoy those of us that enjoy his music. Most "classical" music bores me to tears. Is there some reason you cannot accept that the vast majority of people here like his music? Personally I would not see PF or LD if they gave away tickets. I prefer skilled musicians as opposed to loud noise.

nevertheless123 Says:

Nov 17, 2009 - skilled musicians? You must be kidding. An average orchestra performer can do these riffs like a breeze. Who are these people anyways, they come to popular music to make extra money, not because it is more challenging. Sorry, you misunderstand my intentions. I am not trying to annoy you at all. Maybe my first comment was not appropriate in this thread. But later when you challenge me saying classical music is boring etc., thats when I disagree and say that you have not listened enough.

kakashimaniac Says:

Nov 17, 2009 - Wow nevertheless just wow Get a life already will you?

Gizmologist09 Says:

Nov 17, 2009 - Nevertheless, can you just admit that in YOUR opinion, everyone should like the same music? I do like SOME "classical" music but I do have the right, regardless of what YOU enjoy, to like or dislike whatever I please. And you have NO idea how much classical music I have listened to so why make such a foolish statement? Once again you have proven you only come here to argue. No other reason. So feel free to listen to all the DeBussey, Chopin, Bach, Vivaldi , Tchaikovsky or whoever else.

thedrtwotrees Says:

Nov 17, 2009 - Gosh, its music!!! It makes your spirit dance. When you listen its easy to remember the connection to the Divine Energy Matrix. Just pure joy and creativity.
