Nov 16, 2009 - Carl Sagan was so brilliant, he could break down anything to appeal to the everyday man.

Nov 16, 2009 - carl sagan is the apple ..

Nov 17, 2009 - I thought Time was the fourth dimension and this is what led Einstein to come-up with the term "space-time". Thanks for the vid! I Miss Carl!

Nov 17, 2009 - given that there is no beginning or end, what is the difference in your state or peception between then and now ? Also, what are the implications of that in your life .. right now ?
Devilsnightforlife Says:
Nov 17, 2009 - crumbly but good.
tastydeal Says:
Nov 17, 2009 - Time is commonly referred to as the fourth dimension, but it is categorically separate from the spatial dimensions discussed in the video.
uturniaphobic Says:
Nov 17, 2009 - sounds good! I'll pass it on ) I sometimes wonder if all matter were to stop motion even at the atomic level.. absolute stillness...would time go on.
Annulable Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - Bullshit. When we die, we rot and get used as nutrients for other life.
FluffyBunniesOnFire Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - The other way. He applied the geometric concept to time to produce the concept of space-time. "The 4th dimension" is just the title applied to the 4th (order is arbitrary) axis of an orthogonal coordinate system. You can't just go around saying "Time is the 4th dimension."
uturniaphobic Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - makes sense...can't go around saying forward/backwards is the first dimension as well I suppose, because the order is not relevant thanks!

Nov 19, 2009 - Is there a part two of this video? Is it an episode of Cosmos or something else?

Panczenko Says:
Nov 20, 2009 - Yeah, well.. and what voices does a fourth dimension creature hear?, the voice of one of the fifth?... what happens then with creatures of the elevnth dimension?... and so on?... oh my G

Nov 21, 2009 - He sounds like the priest from The Simpsons :D But he is a genius. Nobody has ever explained it this well to me, I'm finally beginning to understand it.

Nov 21, 2009 - I love this guy, he is like the brain I always wanted.
Cesariono Says:
Nov 21, 2009 - The fact that projection makes an object lose a projection helped me a lot as I try to understand this concept. He could've started with the 2D world though and then explained projection there. So if there was light shining on a triangle, the shadow would be a line and it's length would equal the perpendicular height of the triangle. Then he could've went into explaining projection in the 3rd dimension as he did. I like the projection idea though, it helps a lot 8D
Deathless1One Says:
Nov 21, 2009 - what i love about Carl Sagan is that he uses words everyone can understand, thats a skill too, its tough to translate some complicated concept so those who dont know the language of that concept cant understand. its like finding a way to communicate when one speaks spanish and the other speaks english, it takes a true genius.
