If the Earth was warming via CO2 there would be increased evaporation at the equator and increased ice from clouds at the coldest regions. H20 changes phases with temperature. The hotter the air, the more perms it can carry, as hot air is cooled it cannot carry dense molecules. That is why it rains, snows and the poles have ice.
