freedomthinker7 Says:

Jun 19, 2009 - Raiders are hall of famers all the way. Their hits were off the charts, well they were actually on the charts for many years.

chookiechooks Says:

Jun 24, 2009 - Mark has not lost his hair. He has combed his thick bang into a "glib" - in which the front fringe is combed from the sides to come to a point in the center. Although it appears earlier in history, it is "period" for PRR. When I saw this hair style, I thought, way cool! - here's a smart guy, who takes chances! Great change from his usual heavy bang. He wears this style very well. Very very hot guy.

Oddsman57 Says:

Jul 4, 2009 - I am from Tacoma, Wash. and I saw the Raiders play with the Liverpool Five prior to them recording this song. Coincidentally this and at least one other PRR tune seems to have borrowed quite a bit from the LP5's tune " She's Mine" which can be heard on You Tube's " Nuggets from the Liverpool Five ( Part 1)"...Check it out for yourself.Despite this PRR still blazed the way for other NW bands,

Jul 6, 2009 - Hate to tell you all this but Guitarist Drake Levin Had "Stepped Out" yesterday morning, on the 4th of July 2009. He was 62 and a fighter and will be severely missed by all. Please look up the philfangvolk webpage for his memorial and say comments if you have them.

ENS64 Says:

Jul 6, 2009 - Nice tip...I checked out the LP5 tune and love it too but only hear a slight resemblance....never mind

radioman66 Says:

Jul 7, 2009 - RIP Lead guitarist Drake Levin 62 yrs old. He lost his battle against throat cancer. He could rock. He Phil Volk were the two real showman they would stand up on speakers dance. Drake played the guitar behind his head. Jimi Hendrix once saw them in 1965 in concert watched as Drake did the behind the head bit. The rest of course is Hendrix history!

Jul 20, 2009 - Mark also has tribute to Drake on his webside so check it out, it almost made me cry.

KOOLEO329 Says:

Jul 20, 2009 - Krazy Kool stuff from those Sixties bands based in the Pac NW , especially these guys and others mentioned here by others like the Wailers, Sonics and Liverpool Five.

GUIDOBRAT Says:

Jul 20, 2009 - yeah, saw that..very emotional for kids of the 60's (like me)who grew up w/ Mark and the Raiders on "Where The Action Is" on ABC in the afternoons in '66/'67--been at Mark's site since '05. Long live Mark, Paul, Smitty, "Fang", Drake (and later Charlie Coe) PRthe Raiders will ALWAYS be dear to me

msoong Says:

Aug 9, 2009 - Awesome sounds. I think the lame costume cost them some street cred, but they are definitely one of the best Garage band from the 60's (and I mean that in a good way).

Klattu Says:

Aug 22, 2009 - RIGHT ON !!!

Klattu Says:

Aug 22, 2009 - Remember this was the 60s...think of what was going on in fashion and other bands. Ever see the outfits from St Peppers?

moxie96 Says:

Aug 25, 2009 - He (Drake) passed away on the 4th of July not the 7th. His memorial service was in San Francisco last month.

TMSgal Says:

Aug 26, 2009 - This is good but you need to check out "She's Mine" on You Tube's " Nuggets from the Liverpool Five ( Part1)". PR and The Raiders borrowed a lot from that English Band who toured extensively in The Pac. NW.Others below have also noted this.

slimshine953 Says:

Sep 11, 2009 - The outfits didn't really bother me. In the 60s,band managers record labels often called for the groups do something to garner attention, beyond the music itself. An image, albeit sometimes outlandish, that would set them apart from other bands. Of course,it was a gimmick...but these guys proved that their songs could hold up well in spite of the costumes. They later shed them in favor of the contemporary,mod/hip look of the day. Also,I didn't really think of them as a garage band per se.

TheBogband Says:

Oct 8, 2009 - Best band to come out of America

himycatsdead Says:

Oct 8, 2009 - They seemed to have to do a lot of mad cap stuff for the teens, but as long as they were making money for themselves and the record company along with having fun and writing some very cool songs then why not.......The Monkees made millions off doing the same thing!

bjorntooski Says:

Oct 27, 2009 - These Boys Rocked the Evergreen Ballroom in Olympia more than once . it was Dance Party galore
