Oct 27, 2009 - That's what I was thinking. If this is genuinly from 1969 it's amazingly astute. I mean obviously the names are a tad off "Home post office" rather than a fax machine, but it's pretty spot on otherwise.

ringosis Says:

Oct 27, 2009 - The screens look a bit slim because they clearly arent screens. Looks like a microfiche reader or some kind of projector. The high tech special effects fooled you :P

Oct 28, 2009 - This is the work of Satan, I tell you!

sunryse1 Says:

Oct 28, 2009 - Wow Jules Vern was reincarnated and predicted the future from the 60's!

BuddySweyzer Says:

jennesy Says:

Oct 28, 2009 - well, if this is 1969 the woman likely would have had a hard time getting her own bank account.

rbolo29 Says:

Oct 30, 2009 - lol, the husband will get the bill on his console.

ianhawdon Says:

Oct 31, 2009 - bearing in mind, Unix was just invented that year... maybe this was showing off what it could be doing in a few decades time...

one2nd1 Says:

Nov 4, 2009 - And look how thin the monitors are!! they predicted the size of LCD Tv back then! it's as spookey as Hal 9000 adding one letter to make IBM which was first!!!

campbell177 Says:

Nov 6, 2009 - Excellent

d0md0mt0mt0m Says:

Nov 8, 2009 - Lol doesn't mean it's not sexist.

attackofthehatta Says:

Nov 9, 2009 - It's like they're actually living in 2009!! lol

cobaltblue1975 Says:

Nov 9, 2009 - I think its amazing how much of this they actually got right. Considering its 40 years old and well before The Internet left the cradle of government and universities. They predicted the development of flat panels, online shopping, and online banking. They even touch on Quicken at the 1 minute mark with keeping track of finances on the home computer. Its something to show any pessimist when they try to shoot down what seems to be a far fetched technology. Starship Enterprise anyone?

cobaltblue1975 Says:

Nov 9, 2009 - @Ben, I see where you are coming from but remember this is 40 years ago and a snapshot of the time. Social attitudes were different. Look at media from the 50's and 60's. You can see it in I love lucy episodes where Ricky is in charge of all the money or in every movie or tv show you find black people in a position of servitude. What will be thought of us 40 years from now when someone finds an old episode of Will and Grace and can't understand why we made such a big deal over people being gay.

vonzeke Says:

Nov 9, 2009 - can't understand why we made such a big deal over people being gay. Forget the sexuality of fictitious characters, more likely they'll wonder why anyone watched that tripe in the first place.

BenMcCormack91 Says:

Nov 9, 2009 - I know, I know. I was observing how things were different, not condemning them for being sexist or something.

AlbertInSanAntonio Says:

Nov 11, 2009 - lol

scherzofactor Says:

Nov 16, 2009 - I was 9 years old in 1969. I am amazed how how accurate some of their predictions were, considering the techonolgy available back in 1969!

gastonave Says:

Nov 18, 2009 - They cut out the part at the end where the husband downloads porn.

lambchopxoxo Says:

Nov 18, 2009 - I'm so glad that the reality of it is much easier than this. I'm surprised that they didn't figure the credit card into all of this. they had master charge and bankamericard.

TheLightningStalker Says:

Nov 20, 2009 - They didn't accurately predict how fat we would be.

c64gyro Says:

Nov 20, 2009 - A lot of the stuff from the Jetsons, far-fetched back in it's day, has become a reality. Video phones, portable tvs, etc. We don't own flying cars yet, but give it time.
