Feb 6, 2009 - batooohta! haha. Someone should correct your pronunciation. Who taught you to use that term? FMAers in the Philippines don't use that term. Security Guards and streetchildren do.
KamaoBicol Says:
Jul 20, 2009 - Estoca, No offense but to be honest, I dont think you have the right to tell Master Pana what to call his weapon. Thats his martial art. He can call it whatever he want to call it. Batuta is a correct term. Its a truncheon. A weapon shorter than the average stick. Sorry about this, but you must stop posting comments like these, you're only making a laughing stock out of yourself...Listen to MisterSticks, I think he's right
phoenixifist Says:
Jul 27, 2009 - sorry but its too small to be effective. if carry something small carry a knife. but saying that it is illegal to carry weapons so i dont really advice it. (they are illegal here in UK). ur demo is useless as well. no wonder why you get no comments. plus i dont see batutas in philippines anymore. police carry guns. tambays carry balisong. so what use is your batuta???
estoca Says:
Aug 31, 2009 - oh sure! use batuta all you want! makes you sound nerdy just like him. security guard combatives.
estoca Says:
Aug 31, 2009 - Master Pana? holy crap! he's a master!?
estoca Says:
Aug 31, 2009 - this self-proclaimed "bayani" is just a dabbler in various arts, very amateurish. he speaks as if he knows a lot about the philippines, but he's born and raised in New Jersey
KamaoBicol Says:
Sep 1, 2009 - what disqualifies him from being a master? think about it
KamaoBicol Says:
Sep 1, 2009 - Estoca, if you want your comments to have weight on it, post a video of yourself doing something better than Master Pana...right now, your just a keyboard warrior..all talk...show us your really an expert then I'll believe you...stop hating dude, seriously
KamaoBicol Says:
Sep 1, 2009 - He actually answered that question in the video...at 4:07 I think, oh by the way.. Do you know any drill that can help improve chain punches?
KamaoBicol Says:
Sep 1, 2009 - Master Pana, thanks for sharing your skills. Keep up the good work.
phoenixifist Says:
Sep 1, 2009 - im not sure who you are addressing your question to because i just criticised your "master". he is no master he is a plain beginner and an idiot to post this video. but i can tell you... chain punch is one of wing chun's trade mark. if you want PROPER chain punch then learn wing chun. to supplement their training they use wall bags and wooden dummy just doing the chain punching and a lot of partner exercise and sparring for testing if it works.
estoca Says:
Sep 1, 2009 - his apprentice-level technique and his master-level ego.
estoca Says:
Sep 1, 2009 - so? words are just fine. after all, this master pana is all talk too. weak minded dufuses usually resort to challenges like these when their brain ceases to reason properly.
estoca Says:
Sep 1, 2009 - kamaobicol, if you really think this guy's a master, then obviously you have bad taste. you need to expand your horizons.
estoca Says:
Sep 1, 2009 - if this guy is a master, then everyone is. if he's a master, there are no beginners.
KamaoBicol Says:
Sep 2, 2009 - Phoenix..Im no hater, so I dont care if you just criticized Master Pana. If you have knowledge that I can use I'll ask you for it, politely ofcourse. Still though, the techniques shown in the video are effective if you know how to use it. And thats my opinion, you can hate me for it if you want. I dont care. The more energy people spend on hating the weaker they become. Thats why fighters go thru great lenghts just to get the other guy angry before the fight.
KamaoBicol Says:
Sep 2, 2009 - Estoca, Well at least his got the courage to show himself. While you hide behind a computer screen. His a got a group he's teaching. To bayani Warrior studies he is the master. it doesnt matter if you think his skill is not up to it. The fact remains that he is somebody, and until now, ur a nobody. Im not saying that I wont believe you. But we need proof that you are in a position to criticise Master Pana. Unless your 12 ofcourse that would be embarrasing. Are you?
estoca Says:
Sep 2, 2009 - ok then. i admire his courage to suck big time for everyone to see. there will always be morons like you who actually like it.
TerrHimself Says:
Sep 3, 2009 - Estoca and Phoenixifist, Do you believe that a Fil. Martial Arts instructor would teach something couldn't be used? The basis of FMA is to be able to learn something that can be easily applied in real life situations. Obviously, not everyone will carry around a stick (no matter the length), so in a real life scenario the techniques shown could apply to most anything of a similar length such as a hammer or a pipe.
phoenixifist Says:
Sep 4, 2009 - im not really a fan of fma. i would rather learn karate or judo than fma. tho i respect what they do but im not convinced. if i was i would have learnt it long time ago. again it doesnt mean that i dont know how to defend myself because i do kung fu which uses weapons fma dont even have.
phoenixifist Says:
Sep 4, 2009 - also i dont need a weapon to be effective. our hand to hand combat is deadly enough. if you use that batuta against me you better pray for ambulance is on the way. hehehe... it wont be for me but for you. i dont mean you i mean anyone who has intent to hurt me. i dont really need a weapon but if needed i sure know how to use it/them better than this guy. this guy is a complete beginner. basically he doesnt know what he is talking about. respect...
BayaniWarrior Says:
Sep 4, 2009 - Hey guys! Looks like a lot has been said about this video. Just for the record, I've NEVER called myself a master, nor do I think I'll ever be a master. In fact, I often tell my students that. no matter how long I train or how old I get, I'll still be learning more things and still do my best to keep growing. I hope you all do the same. Respectfully, Mike Pana
