Aug 28, 2009 - Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys actually had nothing to do with this song at all. It was just sung and produced in the Beach Boys style. The First Class was a made up group of session musicians lead by Tony Burrows, and released on Jonathan King's 'UK Records' See also: Edison Lighthouse, White Plains, The Flowerpot Men, Pipkins, They're all made up studio bands, mostly one hit wonders, and all with Tony Burrows on lead vocals. Jonathan King was heavily involved with these as well.

Aug 29, 2009 - The French Horn. What a great feel it added to this song. Great bridge between the end of summer and start of school.

Sep 3, 2009 - The irony of the song is that we can always keep the memory, but remember this, we can never go back. And with that said, thanks for the look back!

Oct 15, 2009 - I remember in '74, we went to Madison Square Garden to see First Class, and they sang "Beach Baby" plus all their other hits. When they were finished, the crowd (a full house) was yelling over and over "FIRST CLASS!! FIRST CLASS!!" and standing and screaming for more. We were smoking a lot of reefer, and everything was spinning around! When they left, everyone screamed for them to come out again, and they did! They sang MORE of their hits, INCLUDING a reprise of "Beach Baby." GREAT concert!

Nov 18, 2009 - Used to listen to this at my youth club "The Hophole" in Palmers Green back '74 and also on Capital radio with Michael Aspel, when radio was really worth listening to.He would always wait 'til that great horn bit came at the end before talking, like proper Dj's should! I know very little about this group, but they reminded me of The Beach Boys, which is I think, a compliment. "First Class" indeed! Pax to all from Ian Smith.Xxx.
