Oct 22, 2009 - wow, I never knew this apple lisa from 1983 was just about as good as windows 95 by Microsoft from 1995... apple is quite a bit ahead of windows.

Oct 22, 2009 - look what apple has gone to a big computer into a thin computer that fits in an envelope, welcome to the city where your future is set forever! it's not even slow!

Oct 22, 2009 - @92exc sadly true, do you see what they could do then in 83? i mean we can do that now but what else can we do? we could be doing ANYTHING if programmers were trying harder and i mean imagine the work for lisa and now...talk about lazy

Oct 30, 2009 - gates never made dos, he bought it from a fellow harvard student ^^ plus he had a contract for an os running with IBM who were entering the market with the PS2 (Personal System 2) which later became the x86 series computers. He sold dos to ibm for 2.5milion $ (he paid 50,000$ for it). The Apple Lisa system made Microsoft develop Windows 3.1, a bad ripoff from Apple! (and meanwhile, Unix was born, permanently banning gui OSes from server environments)

Nov 19, 2009 - I remember when this computer came out. We were using 286 PC's. They cost about $ 3,200 each with a 10 meg hard drive. We had computer stores here in Houston called Computer Galleries. They were owned by a doctor. There were only 3 stores. The Lisa only cost $ 10,000.00 and did not have a hard drive. That came latter. The Apple Post Script printer was another $ 5,000.00. Oh, those were the days. I remember my Apple II with a serial number under 10,000.

Nov 20, 2009 - cool thanks dude :) gonna check amazon now !

Nov 23, 2009 - "The Lisa only cost $ 10,000.00 and did not have a hard drive." As far as I know, the the Lisa OS would not run without a hard disk and the original $10,000 price included an external 5 MB ProFile disk. This video has the hard disk hidden somewhere. You can see the ProFile icon in this demo, too. It's under the top folder along the right side of the screen. The comparatively primitive Mac was the one that didn't have a hard disk or even the ability to use one.
