Dec 7, 2008 - Hello I will probably buy a V-accordion in a month. Either the FR-2 or FR-3. I'm curious to know how does the violin sound? Also, I'm reading through the manual off Roland's website. Does the FR-2 have a trumpet? I'm curious to know because I might try other types of music either than traditional accordion music.

DrKincade Says:

Dec 15, 2008 - I've got the piano version of the FR-3S. I don't use the orchestral sounds much at all, Clarinet sounds OK as does the Jazz Organ. The violin has a "scratchy" flat sound. Trumpet is versatile, timbre of it can be well altered using the bellows. What is missing is a good piano sound on the treble side. The accordion sounds are fantastic, I play mostly French Scottish have not been disappointed at all. Cajun and Bandoneon sound fantastic too. Mine was UKP 1350 - well worth it.

Dec 24, 2008 - can someone give me a tip on how he gets the glissando sound at about 1:28 ? It seems like a useful technique on CBAs.

Dec 31, 2008 - He's obviously a fantastic player, but am I the only one who thinks the MIDI stuff---you know, where you simulate all the other instruments, rhythm, etc.---is incredibly corny? Ack. I love accordion music, but the MIDI stuff makes me squirm. It makes me sad, too, because there are many people who would appreciate the beautiful sound of an accordion, but they hear this syntho-stuff instead, and they roll their eyes... Sorry, I just find it embarrassingly cheesy.

surunairdaccordeon Says:

Jan 8, 2009 - Hello zeppy13131 from Canada, Thanks for writing. Don't forget that midi make's it possible to cross the musical border. An accordionplayer is not longer limited to his accordionsound. It's possible to discover all of the musical instruments with this midi accordion. The average accordionplayer is very happy with the midi freedom.

surunairdaccordeon Says:

Jan 8, 2009 - Hallo Noog09 from V.S. The glissando is just pulling your fingers in a stable position in a direction over the keyboard.

tavo220 Says:

Jan 10, 2009 - Your right, I just ordered mine. It's not like we are trading in our accordions to go comepletely digital. It's about having fun. you know, I've seen FR7,5,2, and 1. Can someone post an FR3sb video??

Jan 19, 2009 - Hallo Dominique.Mooie demo.

Volgende CD? Wie weet!

Mar 3, 2009 - I'm really in doubt at the moment. I need a firm upgrade from my present 82 bass accordeon. 120 bass accordeons with cassotto and converter bass are way out of my price range...but the FR7 seems to carry a hefty price. Would it be worth it to go for the FR series? I played the FR3 briefly, but I felt the basses sounded a bit metallic, but it was difficult to hear well.

yamarydr Says:

Mar 4, 2009 - I just realized something. Would you compare a grand piano to a state of the art electric keyboard?...U shouldnt be. fact is, both are marvelous instruments. now,,,, is it gonna be chessy comparing to the real accordion its modeling. hell yes. should we be comparing them, hell no. it a diff instrument entirely. lets hear the 4/5 sound like an orchestra. what makes ME sad, is that people would roll eyes at this technological marvel because its chessy comparing to the real thing.

zeppy13131 Says:

Mar 5, 2009 - "An accordion player is no longer limited to his accordion sound... It's possible to discover all of the musical instruments with this [MIDI]..." Recorded simulations of them, you mean. There's a difference, right? Musicians spend years learning to get subtly different tones and feelings... With MIDI, that's all lost. It's a kind of musical poverty---and it's considered normal now. (I keep thinking of Bill Murray's "lounge singer" routine on SNL, where he gave the drum machine a solo. :?D )

surunairdaccordeon Says:

Mar 5, 2009 - Hello Zeppy, Try it first. A V-accordion has a bellow. That changes the whole midi story; emotions are possible now. Greetings.

wwmcxx Says:

Mar 7, 2009 - I would like to ask: Who is the third jazz style know what title?

CurtisStephenson Says:

Mar 8, 2009 - Who ever said that you cant get different tones from the v accordion. It simulates all the characteristics of the acoustic version.

raffi98 Says:

Apr 15, 2009 - is there batteries in it? any speakers? or do you have to plug it to the wall, and to a mixer ?...
