Aug 10, 2009 - Although I enjoy Wilson's unpolished, J.L. Hooker-like style, his voice was another matter -- he had that thin, wobbly falsetto that sounded like, oh... my extremely-white grandma would if she tried to sing the blues. To each their own, but I prefer Hite's voice. It's interesting that their two biggest hits were sung by Wilson.

Aug 14, 2009 - I was only 11 when Woodstock happened. Now a mother of two, I have been educating my 11 year old to some of the best music that he'll ever hear. He loves Canned Heat and was saddened to read here that Alan passed away so many years ago. He may be gone, but he is not forgotten. As this is the 40th anniversay of Woodstock, it's only fitting to take a moment and remember this wonderful singer harp player. Cheers to you, Blind Owl.

Aug 15, 2009 - Thank you! Believe me, I f I could teach a class in their schools for music appreciation, I would! What do these kids have to look forward to from "their generations" music? Try as I might, I can't find anything of "theirs" that will stand the test of time the way OUR music has! As a bonus, I will buy iTunes for any of OUR music they want to load on their iPods - any current stuff, they can buy themselves! Needless to say, I buy ALOT of music! :)

Aug 15, 2009 - haha oh I'm turning 1 i'm still in the "these kids" category and i've tried to not be ignorant to our current culture, just i can't find anything that has all the elements of a good song, i find songs today lacking the passion the artists put into them back in the day. I like about only a few band from this generation Bayside, Blink 182 and the recently discover coheed and cambria. and i also have spent close to 100 dollars on itunes lol you should become a teacher right this moment! :)
