Nov 15, 2009 - Read the army times clip in this video a little closer. It suggests that this brigade would be used in the event of a national emergency suck as a chemical attack. We already have such a force called that national guard that does not violate Posse Comitatus. Either way its hard to discern what the article was talking about because we can only read one paragraph and more specifically 3 words are highlighted to try and support the authors point. This is in no way evidence of a military take over.

Who would be in charge of our military or our nuclear capability if Washington DC were instantly destroyed. Continuity plans were first used in the UK during the battle of Britain when it seemed very passable that the Germans might have taken over. That it would suspend the US constitution is purely speculation.

No citizens were effected by the operation because role players were used instead and no one in the general public was searched. On Sept 26, 2006, Bush urged Congress to revising federal laws so that troops could restore order. Changes were included in the John Warner National Defense Authorization Act (H.R. 5122), Oct 17, 2006. The President may employ the armed forces, to, restore order. In 2008, these changes were repealed in their entirety, reverting to the previous wording of the Insurrection Act of 1807.
