Sep 11, 2009 - whenever little walter did those side-to-side vibrato's, I thought he moved the harp with his hands. now that I watch more people, I think your acually supposed to move your head, not the harp.

Sep 28, 2009 - When you're talking about the blues make sure you don't say Jimmy Page. The "gods" will be upset...

Oct 11, 2009 - why not led zeppelin were pretty bluesy robert plant plays the harp aswell
Lukeblueslover Says:
Oct 12, 2009 - Please stop...led zeppelin played some blues tunes but IT AIN'T BLUES. NEVER...plus they put their names on such famous blues tunes as I can't quit you, killing floor, you shook me etc. Willie Dixon had to sue them back in the 90's otherwise you might have read to this day that Bring it on Home was by "Page/Plant".
guitaristbiker Says:
Oct 15, 2009 - lets just put it this way, watch the movie cadillac records, but zeppelin sounded bluesy because they stole music from blues guys same with the rollin stones when they first started, but atleast they came to chess and made it ok, zeppelin got sued for stealin muddy waters' music
WEmip Says:
Oct 20, 2009 - Clapton is saying how powerfully Walter influenced him....hey I think he used the word "crude" but meant somthing more like "intense". Clapton had nothing but admiration for Little Walter.
SWsthia Says:
Oct 25, 2009 - O MESTRE!!!
bigdog0800 Says:
Oct 29, 2009 - zep gets no respect from me if you gonna take something from someone atleast big em up for it like the rolling stones did and eric clapton did. You should have respect for the music oyour stealing and not steal it but pay for it like you should. Led Zepplin is nothing but a bunch of cracker ass thieves period they suck. they werent even the first ones or the second or the third to take ffrom willie dixon and yet they thought nooone would notice....cmon guys repsect the gift of yuour career.

tosha723 Says:
Nov 1, 2009 - Again, thank u cause I am sick of hearing that these folks are anything compared to Walter or Muddy!!!! No one can be compared to the REAL BLUES MEN!!!!
fuzzleredmenn Says:
Nov 1, 2009 - True, even other Brit rockers like Small Faces gave credit to people like Mr Dixon, but early on Zeppelin didnt. I like them but fair is fair.
oaklandan Says:
Nov 5, 2009 - Don't forget "When the Levee Breaks" which they stole from Memphis Minnie. Not cool.
bluesborn Says:
Nov 7, 2009 - Each musical discipline only has a few true greats and in Blues music Walter was right at the top of the list.
scottduncan44 Says:
Nov 10, 2009 - Pretty aragent asshole. What gives you the authority to decide this for any one else. I think he's at his best now. I saw him several months ago and he tore it up. Unlike many other great early rock artist he is both alive and true to his vision and art. Something not true for all those who imitated and made a livinf imitating his early sound.
scottduncan44 Says:
Nov 10, 2009 - Sounds like intellectual masturbation.Another critic speaking out of his asshole who has to talk about music probably because they can't play it. Clapton needs no justification, he simply is for better or worse. Like many other great musican he had a magical quality that goes beyond his equipment and technique. Still his first album with Mayall is still a standard copied by countless would be blues players. He may have imitated material but no one had his tone.
19elgato46 Says:
Nov 15, 2009 - All music evolves thru time. Electic blues is in no way like the old original blues men. And all blues men play each others songs. Thank God people like the Animals, the Stones,Eric etc... and "crackers" like me and my all my friends helped keep the Blues alive when black folk abandoned it in droves. We genuinely love the blues as it sooths the soul and lifts you up color be damned.
19elgato46 Says:
Nov 15, 2009 - And as for you fourtunate enough to be able to play music don't be so ARROGANT as to think we the listener can't appreciate or understand the blues. I've loved and listened to the blues for 50 years. But for the listener you would just be dish washers playing on your time off without the listeners love and admiration. Then you really WOULD have the blues. So don't insult us with your superior bullshit.
19elgato46 Says:
Nov 15, 2009 - SORRY! You probably are a dish washer who plays on his time off!! You really do have the blues! My bad!
george383 Says:
Nov 15, 2009 - You must like to speak in non-sequiturs but hey that's what you get from squatting on the cosmic utensil for a living. Yeah - I used to collect all them Mayall albums but then I started to realize he was just as bad as Jimmy Page - taking all them old bluesman's tunes, putting new lyrics to them and calling it his own song. Like "Little Girl" - basically just a rip-off of Howlin Wolf's 44 blues. People been rearranging folk tunes forever but Clapton and Mayhall was the first did it for money.
edavisdavis Says:
Nov 17, 2009 - This guy helped nurture my playin, along with Sonny Terry, thanks to Chess records
