Oct 10, 2009 - Stop action is to cgi what vinyl records are to CDs. Some of us prefer the old technology.
DrBreakfastMachine Says:
Oct 11, 2009 - There are some people that hate CGI because it's new or stop-motion because it's old, but for me it's the effort and imagination put behind a creature that matter. Harryhausen and O'Brien's work is, of course, amazing, but there are some newer films like Cloverfield and District 9 that use new technology to create the same feeling.

Nov 7, 2009 - The really sad thing about CGI is that it becomes dated almost instantaniously. Stop motion is timeless because there is something psysically there. You rock, Ray!
returnofbeaux Says:
Nov 11, 2009 - the sound track is great because the rapid drums expand the perception of time.

Nov 15, 2009 - Fantastic video. Thanks. I was familiar with some of Harryhausen's works, especially the Sinbad film and Clash of the Titans. I admired both a great deal as a young boy. I remember having them on VHs at home and watching them over and over. Now I realized I didn't know about half of all the creatures shown in this collection. Where is that sabertooth from? And the scene with the elephant wrestling the swamp creature?
