An overview is given on wiki which, given citations and links to the specified interviews has no reason to be doubted. (Although you might doubt the article itself I guess) and no she wasn't making that assumption, it said "Although she is straight and is currently seeing a Los Angeles actor ...he ...she was ...hit on by women, who either mistook her for a boy or for a lesbian."
