Oct 20, 2009 - I'm guessing it's not actually about something paranormal... Chevelle is very good at metaphors and stuff, it's why I like them. Dissect 'The Clincher' or 'Panic prone. Those songs are pretty deep, though sometimes I wonder if they do that on purpose...

Oct 24, 2009 - an amazing song. he has such a great voice.

Oct 28, 2009 - Its about the ghost indeed, and how it felt when the ghost became within perception. Although the ghost would generally be a blinding scare to most, they were more in awe of the spiritual experience while feeling a sense of sympathy for the lost and lonely soul; they wish they could point him towards the rest, or in other words direct he/she towards salvation or eternal peace. Lyrics about waking up in bed cold (ghost present),and hearing crowing(something dark), suggest the paranormal event

Oct 28, 2009 - No matter the true intention of the song, it is amazing and gives me goosebumps
FunzoCalrissian Says:
Oct 30, 2009 - if anyone has seen Paranormal Activity, this song could have easily been about the film, however, the song came out before the film, still some eerie coincidences in the lyrics. Another thing that makes Chevelle's music so fucking awesome, it can be about so many things.

Nov 3, 2009 - you know what Panic Prone is about right? a save the children commercial Pete sat back and though am I going to do anything or not? The Clincher pretty obvious claustriphobia. This though is about a ghost or an appariton. They used to live in a house they thought was haunted, they saw a girl in the yard next to the tree. She told them here dad was buried there. That's what it's about.
anotherkindofcold Says:
Nov 4, 2009 - Yeah, but they're like poetry and can mean so much more than those things; it's the beauty of music. Yeah, there's something it means to the band specifically, and a literal meaning sometimes, but it's still awesome to find a song that matches your own situation. I mean, have you read the nutjob theories on how The Clincher is about Jesus or sum'm? Maybe not what Pete was doing, but it totally fits when you look at it...

Nov 4, 2009 - funny how hardrock bands make great acoustic songs slipknot has some good ones too
iLikechevelle Says:
Nov 4, 2009 - Yeah, they say the Clincher is aboout the crucifixion. It totally fits with the lyrics but so far from the real meaning. It's open for your own interpretation, that's the beauty of music.

Nov 8, 2009 - not true paranormal activity actually came out in 2007 look it up
JWhitt433 Says:
Nov 17, 2009 - @FunzoCalrissian That's because this song is about a haunted house that the Loeffler brothers lived in and many times, people said they had eerie nightmares about ghosts living there, telling and showing stories.
FunzoCalrissian Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - jwhitt, i know what the song is about, just was pointing out a way a person could react to this song if they, in fact, did not know what it was about.

Nov 25, 2009 - Why dont u just say that u think vena sera is your favorite album? Only 3 out of 10 of your favs are from other albums. Come on bro. Vena Sera was probably their least impressive album. And comfortable liar is the only song from WWN? FTW?
Deadpool458 Says:
Nov 26, 2009 - You're right. Sadly, I posted this before I had really heard the full extent of Wonder What's Next and This Type of Thinking. If I had to create a new list it would be more like this. 1. To Return 2. Panic Prone 3. An Evening with el Diablo 4. Forfeit 5. Until You're Reformed 6. Saferwaters 7. Don't Fake this 8. Breach Birth 9. Highest Apparition 10. Straight jacket fasion Their first album's were significantly better than the newer. But, Vena Sera was still outsanding
