We live in a corporate world where money and cliche is more powerful than the single individual who has a belief. It's a different place we're living in now. Of course, Beatty sees this as the "natural" course of things when in reality much of it is contrived and twisted. Great for the wealthy and powerful like him but keeping the masses in their own kind of prison. No equality going on in this kind of world view. As shown greed literally KILLS. Oct 21, 2009 - Why is everyone so anti-America? USA going down? You seem to forget that this very website is run by a company based in the US! Yes of course Democracy isn't reaching the ultimate achievement it set out to, but then neither did Communism but it did a lot worse!! Perhaps it's not so much about the system, but the hearts of the people involved. Selfishness, malintent and basic imperfection will cause any establishment to fail.
