Jan 17, 2009 - I was a freshman or soph when this piece was released. At the time I remember thinking that FH was selling out compared to what he had done on Blue Note years before; Feeling about this as I do about Jazz light now. Both were reactions more or less to a time that birthed more "revolutionary" chords, so to speak. But, Mr. FH had to eat and Red Clay and First Light sold more than all his Blue Note sessions combined and they're much better than anything call "light" Jazz is doing today. Great tune.

Mar 1, 2009 - wow... i haven't heard this in years! CTI Records were my introduction to jazz... featuring artists like F. Hubbard, G. Benson, H. Crawford, G. Washington Jr, Milt Jackson, R. Carter, Q. Jones, B. James, as well as all the incredible sidemen that played on their albums. CTI made me receptive to jazz... which opened me up to Miles, Coltrane, Weather Report, Return To Forever, Billy Cobham, and everything else. truly great stuff! thanks for posting.

Jul 14, 2009 - I bought this album by pure chance in 1971 or 1972 while stationed in Bremerhaven, Germany. It was in the PX and really found a new music medium I had not ever listened too. I still have the album!!!! Thanks for Posting!
