Sep 20, 2009 - I'm not sure where I stand on the sampling issue. On one hand, due to the rise in music piracy, one can see why record companies would try to get more money at any cost. It is stealing, but honestly, who cares if you take 3 seconds of guitar from another song! Is suing really worth the trouble? People aren't going to buy the record for that 3 seconds, so its not taking away from the original artist. Just credit the sample. I think the problem is that laws are too strict. We need to loosen up.

Oct 6, 2009 - great upload sampling is an artform

DJsorama Says:

Oct 6, 2009 - i agree man they reasond they get mad about them sampling their song to is they see people today lisent to hip hop and stuff and they make more money than them now that what i think they looking at they dont really care of few second of the semple they see the money they making and they target them

Pixelbuddy Says:

Oct 6, 2009 - I think it should be permitted, but some rules should be put in place. Bittersweet Symphony took it way too far, especially when it was based solely on verbal permission, which never cuts it. But generally, if its a couple of seconds, who cares? People aren't gonna pay 20 bucks for that 2 seconds.

DJsorama Says:

Oct 6, 2009 - thats true man it makes me laugth do one note i wont call it copyrighting think about it i heard so many rock band jazz ect who take other songs to and turn them in to their own and they dont bitch at them i notice that people always try to take it on hip hop why is that? right?

DJsorama Says:

Oct 6, 2009 - and i really dont see whats the bitching all about they making money to if they think about it djs buy THEIR records to sample it might not be as much as the djs make but they make it and hip hop can help them out cause not many people lisent to that genre of music sampling kind spread the to all the people like i said before some people might not lisent to that type music maybe a orchestra but some comes and sample it the every be lisent to the same music but with a lil twist around it

Pixelbuddy Says:

Oct 6, 2009 - I'm not a huge hip hop fan, for the record. the closest I've gotten to hip hop is Gorillaz and Let Me Clear My Throat by DJ Kool. Not that it matters. Honestly, the legal thing has to do with the industry's not making as much money as before. Like, really, who cares about a 2 second sample? And most times, the musician isn't even making much off it to begin with! Some rules just need to be put in place, and fast.

DJsorama Says:

Oct 6, 2009 - lol true that

Oct 17, 2009 - maybe if they didnt waste so much money ""trying"" to stop piracy they could enjoy more money
