Nov 20, 2009 - This scene was cut because of the running time. WB made Snyder trim the movie so it would be fit for IMAX. Not because "it hindered the pacing." Of course this scene was meant to be in the film. The director fought hard for this scene. Screw IMAX.

The film itself was already too long for IMAX - they even sped up the credits so that it would fit - but in previous films that have been released simultaneously in IMAX they generally have two different versions. This is the same as the theatrical release

It was a bittersweet irony that Hollis went out like a hero reliving past battles instead of laying in bed surrounded by ghosts of past friends as well as old enemies. The greater tragedy IMHO was that the theatre crowd didn't see it there! I have the Director's Cut on DVD but thanks for posting this for the people who don't.
