At best, i think you can compare him to the witch king, who lost his soul because of his lust for power and wisdom.

Sep 21, 2009 - Thing is you can say the same for Sauron. He's been around since before the world began, originally something akin to an angel and has died at least half a dozen times. In the book it even said that Sauron was not completely killed in the end, just that he had lost too much power to maintain himself as a ruler. He actually can never be completely destroyed.
