Jan 12, 2009 - Id like to add something (Im french) : quebec accent, is, for us, in France, a ridiculous accent. Its like the accent of a 16th century peasant. So we use to laugh at quebec guys because they speak like tards.
takeit10 Says:
Jan 12, 2009 - hum.. that's very unpleasant of you to say that if you take the fact that YOUR people went there and colonized the country. you would be laughin at your ancestor.
ThousandThrills Says:
Jan 21, 2009 - cause you think your own accent isn't unpleasant, it sounds so uptight like YOU were from another century. We speak like Americans, like modern people...
BBennett1003 Says:
Jan 28, 2009 - the interesting thing to note is that in ontario, french immersion students (like myself) are taught parisian French. Its strange when even after years and years of practice its more difficult to understand someone from your own country than someone from across the ocean
takeit10 Says:
Jan 29, 2009 - Sorry... who are u talking to?
Chambyhabs Says:
Chambyhabs Says:
Feb 5, 2009 - Yeah it's soooo true. I met a girl from Calgary who speak a perfect French, an International French. I was able to understand her easily, but she had some difficulty to understand some of the expressions and accents, but we were able to understand each other. It's not like talking to people who don't speaks your language, still the same language.

SeahawksFanUK Says:
Aug 12, 2009 - Love Quebecois French ^^
radxadamx Says:
Sep 2, 2009 - make a little research David Brent = Ricky Gervais. Point your making is exactly what I was saying.
ketmaniac Says:
Sep 2, 2009 - It might be, if I was saying David Brent=Ricky Gervais. But he isn't. He's a fictional character created by Gervais and Merchant, and is open to re-interpretation by different actors from different cultures. Steve Carell's Brent is not the same as Gervais's Brent, and this actor's Brent is different too - as it should be. So I repeat - he's trying to be David Brent, not Ricky Gervais.

Sep 11, 2009 - I love the bluetooth, that is so clever.
SylvanaForrester Says:
Sep 19, 2009 - Wow, I like Vezina's take on the David Brent character. And I like the choice of David Gervais for his name. Vezina does this little lip bite that really evokes Ricky Gervais. I wish I could understand the language. Are there any subtitled versions uploaded?
Alkhir69 Says:
Sep 25, 2009 - You're right, Vezina's David evokes Ricky Gervais a lot. But he also brings a lot of others things that are really hilarious to the french canadian. The tone he takes, the way he explains things, the way that he uses english expressions in all situations to make himself sound cooler etc... It's really well done, he's a perfect french canadian ass :) (I'm one so I know what I'm talking about) . It's a real shame that they stopped after one season.
Alkhir69 Says:
Sep 25, 2009 - He's as pathetic as Carrel's David and Gervais' David. Sometimes even more
SylvanaForrester Says:
Oct 3, 2009 - They canceled the Chilean version after a very short run too. A lot of people there were extremely disappointed. Now the DVDs are reaching cult status. I swear I have no idea what is going through the heads of these TV execs sometimes.
Highlandheadbanger Says:
Oct 7, 2009 - I don't speak French, but just watching his face and the way he explains everything makes me laugh all the same.
bastienjack Says:
Oct 31, 2009 - This actor is so funny. A very good David BRENT. Awesome
bastienjack Says:
Oct 31, 2009 - The text is almost a translation of the original. But the guy's great.
fbeaupre Says:
BigUglyYeti Says:
Nov 17, 2009 - The Ricky Gervais/Steve Carrell character reminds me of every male French teacher I've ever had.

takeit10 Says:
Dec 27, 2008 - Oh, thank you for answering. I presumed that the culture and the terms would be different, just wondering if the language was very distinguished. Thank you though!
